Why customers enjoy Eden Springs bottled water Eden’s water is from a ‘Single Origin’, pure, fresh and natural. Much better than tap water which may come from mixed sources, including reservoir water that has been through treatment works. Tap water contains chlorine to suppress the growth of the microbes which it picks up during transport through mains pipework. Eden water is treated only with ozone (powerful water sanitiser which leaves no chemical or taste residues), providing assurance of hygienic quality. Eden Springs is a CarbonNeutral® company and reuses all 11ltr and 18.5ltr bottles up to 50 times before they are recycled. This means our customers can enjoy their water, knowing that the bottles are being dealt with in the most sustainable way.
The value of hydration in a workplace To function properly and remain healthy, we need to be hydrated. In return, we will benefit in both our personal and professional lives. There is a growing body of evidence that proves that the performance of a company is directly linked to the well-being of its employees. Since most people spend most of their waking hours at work, it is only logical that the workplace should be a point of wellbeing for employees. Given that the body is more than 60% water, it is no wonder that our water consumption has a profound effect on our health. The body loses water every day, which needs to be replaced, on average 2.9 litres for men and 2.2 litres for women. Bottling Plant
Our sources are boreholes, which pick up water from aquifers approximately 91m below the surface. They are well protected from surface water contamination. To ensure you receive the highest quality water the source must comply with the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2010. This means that it must be regularly monitored for a wide range of chemicals and microbes. We have many years’ worth of results of such monitoring, showing that the quality of the supply meets consistently high standards.
Filtration. As it is pumped into the plant, the water passes through a series of filters (coarse, 0.5 micron absolute, 0.2 micron absolute). This will catch any tiny particles that might be in the water. It would also remove organisms such as Giardia and Cryptosporidia, which have caused health scares in mains water in the past. The water may then be held for a short time in stainless steel storage tanks before being treated with ozone and bottled. Ozonation. All water must pass through the ozonator before being bottled. Here ozone gas is bubbled through the water and is absorbed, killing any microorganisms which may be present. Any ozone which is left in the water reverts to harmless, tasteless and odourless oxygen. Ozone is the most powerful water sanitiser available. No chemical residues remain after treatment. Bottling. UK Regulatory Authorities. Conditions in the bottling plant must comply with Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs. Environmental Health Officers inspect production to ensure that it is hygienic, and that staff are suitably trained. The British Water Cooler Association (BWCA). This organization was set up to promote high standards in the water cooler industry in the U.K. As founding members of the organization we have been instrumental in setting up the strict code of practice to which all members must adhere. Our bottling plant is BWCA accredited, which involves achieving high standards in an annual inspection by independent auditors.

Bottled Water The quality of our bottled water is subject to the Natural Mineral Water, Spring Water and Bottled Drinking Water Regulations 2007 (as amended). This lays down a wide range of chemical and hygienic standards for the water (over 40 tests in all). As well as this statutory testing, we routinely carry out laboratory tests on each batch of water, throughout production. Independent, accredited specialist water-testing laboratories also carry out tests for us weekly.
Water Coolers Our water coolers are installed and maintained by hygiene and safetytrained staff. Quarterly sanitisations of bottled water coolers are carried out to written procedures in accordance with BWCA recommendations. As with water production, independent auditors conduct annual inspections of each Distribution Branch, covering the procedures, documentation, hygiene and working practices used in the inhouse sanitisation departments and on customer premises. HACCP studies are available for both water production and distribution functions upon request.

Eden’s Recycling Scheme & Reusable Products CUP RECYCLING & REUSABLE PRODUCT RANGE INNOVATIVE CUP RECYCLING SCHEME Eden Springs have partnered up with a leading recycling partner to provide our customers with a closed-loop recycling service. This solution guarantees that all used paper and plastic cups are recycled, instead of sent to landfill. We use the UK’s only processing plants capable of recycling polyethylene lined paper cups. Once processed, materials are used to manufacture new, functional products like thermal cups, plastic tables, benches, notebooks, paper, pens and pencils. This is a quick and easy way to improve the sustainability efforts in your business. It will not only impress your customers but it will empower your staff too.
WATER COOLER BOTTLES RETURNABLE - REFILLABLE - REUSABLE Eden Springs bottles are manufactured from high quality polycarbonate which is highly desirable for recycling. We return, refill and reuse every single one of our bottles at least 50 times, meaning every Eden Springs bottle delivers (on average) 925 litres of water in its lifetime. This is therefore sparing 925 traditional 1 litre plastic bottles from landfill. With over 5 million reusable Eden water cooler bottles filled every year, it’s fair to say we have some experience in bottling!

At the end of their life, Eden Springs bottles are taken away by a recycling expert to create injection moulding pellets, and then re-used to create permanent products such as plastic roofs, food containers and CCTV domes.
