Celebrating 40 years of Montessori at Cherry Trees
It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating with Wendy Compson (Founder of the School), with past pupils visiting and many of our younger students being the second generation to attend our Montessori Nursery. There were many tasty treats made by our Chefs, and lots of laughter mixed in to make a very special time. Wendy Compson is actively involved in Cherry Trees helping us deliver the best possible Montessori Education for all our pupils.

In Caterpillars the children have been looking at journeys and different vehicles. They have enjoyed exploring mark making with cars and using their gross motor skills to move the cars through the paint. They have also been reading stories about different journeys such as ‘The Gruffalo’ and ‘Whatever Next’

.
The Butterflies at Cherry Trees showed a keen interest in Mr. Alan’s wonderful Honda 50 Moped and the mini tractor while learning about vehicles and their uses.

The Butterfly children have recently enjoyed a trip to High Lodge where they had so much fun looking for Zog! The children also spotted a couple of familiar faces whilst they were there, including The Gruffalo and the Little Brown Mouse.

Big thank you go to Mr. Jackson, Courtney, Rachel, Sophie and Coriander for joining us on their adventure.

Reception Class thoroughly enjoyed a trip to Lackford Lakes. The weather didn’t dampen their spirits, they used it to their advantage and had a great time bug hunting. Before long the sun was shining and the children were able to spot dragonflies, damselflies, herons and many swans. We are so fortunate to have such peaceful surroundings on our doorstep.
