Data and privacy What customer information do you collect, and how is it stored?

Because we care for young children, the information we hold is more sensitive than most businesses handle, and we treat it accordingly.

About the child • Identity and enrolment details, including name, date of birth, address and immunisation history.

• Health and medical information, including allergies, medical conditions, medications, dietary requirements and action plans provided by a doctor.

• Attendance records, and daily records of meals, sleep and nappy changes or toileting.

• Developmental observations, learning documentation and photographs taken during the day.

• Where relevant, court orders and parenting arrangements affecting who may collect a child.

About the family • Contact details for parents, guardians, emergency contacts and authorised collectors.

• Information needed to administer the Child Care Subsidy, including customer reference numbers.

• Billing and payment records.

• Consent decisions, including photography and excursion permissions.

How it is held Records are held in access-controlled digital systems, with paper records kept securely at campus where they exist. Access is limited to those who need it to care for the child or administer the enrolment, educators see what they need for the children in their room, not the whole database. Information is retained for the periods required under education and care and taxation law, and securely destroyed afterwards.

Photographs and observations shared with families through our parent app go to that child's family only, and are not visible to other families.

Do you share customer information with anyone?

We do not sell customer information, ever, and we do not share it for marketing purposes or with third parties for their own use.

Information is shared only in the following circumstances: • With the Australian Government, to administer the Child Care Subsidy. Attendance and enrolment data is submitted as required under family assistance law.

• With regulatory authorities, meaning the Queensland Department of Education and ACECQA, where required under the Education and Care Services National Law. Page 1 of 4

• With child protection authorities and police, where we have a reporting obligation. We follow those obligations in every case, and we do not require a family's consent to meet them.

• With the technology providers that operate our systems, as data processors acting on our instructions and bound to protect it. They do not use it for their own purposes.

• With emergency services and medical practitioners, where a child needs urgent care.

• With the family themselves, and with anyone the family has authorised.

Outside of these, information about a child or family is not disclosed to anyone without the family's consent.

Obligations Standards, codes or regulations you work under Education and care • Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations.

• The National Quality Framework and the National Quality Standard, assessed and rated by the Queensland Department of Education as regulatory authority.

• The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia, the approved national learning framework for children from birth to five.

• The Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline, for our kindergarten programs.

• Queensland Government kindergarten funding conditions.

Child safety and protection • Queensland child protection legislation and our mandatory reporting obligations.

• Working with children screening: every educator and adult working at a campus holds a current Blue Card.

• The National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.

What do you guarantee or warrant?

Approach taken: only commitments that are already operational practice, already required of us, or entirely within our control. Nothing about outcomes for a child, nothing about availability, and nothing that depends on circumstances we do not control. A guarantee published and later withdrawn does more damage than never having made it.

We commit to the following, and will still be committing to them in two years: • Every educator and adult working at our campuses holds a current Blue Card and completes national child safety training, refreshed annually.

• First aid, CPR, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis management training, delivered by CAECE, the College for Australian Early Childhood Education, RTO 40933. Educators hold HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and care setting, which incorporates HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

HLTAID012 is renewed every three years and the CPR component every twelve months.

• Every campus delivers a government-approved kindergarten program taught by a qualified early childhood teacher.

• Meals are prepared on site by our own chefs. Food is not catered in or delivered from a central facility.

• The inclusions that make up the Family Time Program are part of how every campus runs its day. They are not billed separately, and families are not charged extra for the meals a child eats during the day, nappies, wipes, sunscreen, extracurricular programs or the on-site services that form part of the program. Two things within the Family Time Program are charged separately: Take Home Meals and Date Nights. Optional specialist activities a family chooses are charged and sit outside the program altogether. We tell families which is which before they enrol rather than afterwards.

• If something happens involving a child during the day, the family hears it from us that day, in full.

• Families are always free to raise a concern with the regulatory authority directly, and we will never discourage it or ask them to come to us first.

• We tell families what their care will cost, based on their own Child Care Subsidy percentage, at enquiry, before a tour, and without requiring them to visit a campus to find out.

What will you not do?

Services we do not provide • Outside school hours care and vacation care at every campus. These are available at selected campuses only, and we do not imply otherwise.

• In-home care, nannying, babysitting or family day care. All care happens at a campus.

• Overnight care.

• Care outside South East Queensland. We do not operate in any other state or territory.

Claims we will not make • We will not guarantee a place. Availability depends on the campus, the age group and the days needed, and we will not imply otherwise.

• We will not guarantee developmental or educational outcomes for a child. No claims about future academic performance, school readiness as a promise, or advantage over children in other care.

• We will not describe a campus as Exceeding the National Quality Standard unless that campus currently holds that rating. Ratings apply to individual campuses, never to the network as a whole.

• We will not claim to be cheap, affordable, budget or competitively priced, and we will not publish a daily fee rate. A gross rate is not what any family pays and publishing one misleads.

• We will not compare our fees to a named competitor, or disparage another provider in any channel.

• We will not state a numeric educator-to-child ratio as an advertised staffing level.

Things we will not do to families or children • We will not name or identify a child in published content, and we will not use a child's image without their family's written consent.

• We will not discuss an individual child, family, incident or complaint publicly, including in response to a review.

• We will not sell family or child information, or share it for marketing purposes.

• We will not use urgency, scarcity or parental guilt as marketing tactics.

• We will not discourage a family from contacting the regulator or child protection authorities.

Enrolments we will not take • We will not enrol a child where doing so would breach the National Regulations, including where it would take a room beyond its approved capacity or required staffing.
