Mr Paper CUTS

Elvis Peeters, illustrations Gerda Dendooven

Mr Paper cuts a recognisable world for preschoolers, their parents and teachers Award-winning author Elvis Peeters writes about major topics in a light-hearted way Masterful collages by top illustrator Gerda Dendooven

Mr Paper cuts and sticks his world. With paper and a pair of scissors at hand he is ready for every challenge.

He cuts a bottle of water to slake his thirst, an apple to fight his hunger, and when Cat isn’t in the mood to play, he cuts a dog or a girl to walk with. But not everything he cuts, does as he pleases, bringing him from one unexpected twist to another. And so his life is surprisingly similar to ours.

In 1992 Elvis Peeters published his first collection of stories. Ever since, together with Nicole Van Bael, he’s been writing novels, theatre plays, audio plays, children’s books, earning him a Zilveren Griffel. Gerda Dendooven is an illustrator and a teacher in Ghent. She is praised both at home and abroad, and has already won several awards, including De Gouden Uil, the Woutertje Pieterse Prize and three times a Boekenpauw.
