UI Lecture Series with HHP presents The Providers:

Film Screening and Discussion Chris and Ann Ruge

The Department of Health and Human Physiology co-sponsored a UI Lecture on October 13, 2022. The UI Lecture showed a viewing of a documentary called The Providers with a questionand-answer segment following featuring one of the providers featured in the film, Chris Ruge, and his wife Ann Ruge. Chris is a nurse practitioner and Ann is a certified nurse midwife. The film follows three healthcare providers that bring care to those living on the margins, in a rural American community struggling with a shortage of doctors and the ravages of the opioid epidemic. The event was organized by Professor Gayle Walter.
