I dedicate this recital to the loving memory of my dear father Dr. John C. Handy, who developed in me a musical foundation and spiritual philosophy that transcends the constraints of this mortal existence.

English Translation

Lasst sie der Prufung Fruchte sehen; Doch sollten sie zu Grabe gehen, So lohnt der Tugend kuhnen Lauf, Nehmt sie in euren Wohnsitz auf.

O Isis and Osiris grant the spirit of wisdom to the new-formed couple! Direct the Wanderer’s steps to them, strengthen them with patience when in peril.

Let them see the benefits of their trial; but if they should succumb, reward their courageous course and admit them to thy dwelling.
