University of Houston–Downtown

Located in the heart of Houston, UHD educates more than 14,000 students annually and has an alumni base of more than 64,000. Graduates emerge from the institution prepared to serve as leaders in law enforcement, business, science, education, nonprofit management, the arts and other industries. Students benefit from its convenient campus (accessible by light rail and from the city’s Bayou Greenways) and curriculum delivering real-world learning experiences. In recent years, UHD’s economic impact on the region totaled $2 billion. With a growing campus — including the new College of Sciences & Technology Building — and bolstered graduation rates, that sum should continue to grow as UHD approaches its 50th year of serving Houstonians.
