Build a Research Powerhouse that Impacts our Region and the World As a part of our strategic endeavors, the University will conduct innovative research in Houston’s areas of strength: energy, infrastructure, space, health, data sciences and the arts. With a focus on research acceleration, twice as many faculty will receive national honors and competitive grants.

Social Responsibility
Help Build Equity and Inclusion in our Community Strengthening our partnership with Historic Third Ward and the city of Houston is one of our key strategies for success. Good health is the lifeblood of a community. In addition to other measures, we will develop a Population Health Complex that leads interdisciplinary population health practice and research to help eliminate health disparities.

Build a Competitive Athletics Program Among other initiatives, the University will pursue the best national platform for student-athletes to compete. Moreover, UH student-athletes will lead the conference in graduation rate and the Academic Progress Rate.
