Submitting your Intent to Enroll and your $200 tuition deposit confirms that you will attend the University of Hawai‘i at _ Manoa in the Spring 2015 semester. The tuition deposit is non-refundable/non-transferable and is applied toward your tuition for the spring semester. Submit your form and deposit to the Office of Admissions by the date indicated on your acceptance letter. Deposits are payable by credit card or check. We accept all card types except American Express.

Cash payments can be made in person at the Cashier's Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS CREATE YOUR MYUH ACCOUNT

Create an online account through MyUH and establish your UH email at the website above. Email is the primary method we use to communicate with you. Once on the website, click on "Get a UH username" and follow the instructions. You will need to enter your first and last name, UH ID number, and date of birth as they appear on your acceptance letter. Information regarding financial aid, housing, registration, and updates will be sent to your UH email.

The priority deadline to apply for financial aid falls on March 1 of each year. Even if you miss the deadline, you can still apply to take advantage of what is available. Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at HYPERLINK "http://fafsa.ed.gov" fafsa.ed.gov. Once completed, you will be able to view your financial aid status and awards through your MyUH account under the "Financial Aid" section.

Scholarships can also help you to pay for college and they don't have to be repaid. You can search for scholarships on the financial aid website.

APPLY FOR STUDENT HOUSING

If you are interested in living on campus you can submit a housing application through the Student Housing Services website. You must submit a $25 non-refundable application fee with your housing application. Applications received without this fee will not be processed.

To apply, your UH ID Number (found on your acceptance letter) is required. If you are assigned a housing placement, you will receive a notice in your hawaii.edu email account with a room contract offer. To accept the housing offer, a housing deposit must be received in the student housing office by the date specified. Room payments should not be sent until a contract has been offered. Details concerning payment will be provided in the electronic notification to your hawaii.edu email.

Students in the residence halls are required to purchase a meal plan each semester. There are a number of different meal plans available and selecting a meal plan is part of the housing application. For more information and updates, visit the student housing website.

CLEAR HOLDS & SUBMIT HEALTH CLEARANCE FORM

Check your MyUH for any holds on your record (i.e. health clearance, financial obligations, etc). Failure to clear holds can result in a delay in class registration.

You are required to submit a completed health clearance form to University Health Services before you are allowed to register for classes. The form must be complete and verify that you have taken a TB test/x-ray (at least one year from enrollment) and have taken two doses of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR). The form can be downloaded from hawaii. edu/myuh/healthform. You may submit _ the form by mail or fax (Mail: University Health Services Ma noa 1710 East West Road, Honolulu, HI 96822, fax: (808) 956-0853) The Medical Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. The clinic provides walk-in service for illness, injury, immunizations, and other primary care. Pharmacy and lab services are also available. Non-HMO insurance plans are accepted and discounted fee-for-service is offered to students without insurance.

Insurance All students should have a plan that covers medical services in Hawai‘i. The University endorses a plan with enrollment periods at the beginning of each semester. Additional information is available on the Health Services website.

English Native speakers of English are placed into ENG 100 or ENG 190 based on class standing and transfer _ status. Both introductory composition classes fulfill UH Manoa's Foundations-Written Communication (FW) requirement and offer a variety of sections, some of which offer tutoring or mentoring assistance. _ To determine the appropriate class for you, visit the Ma noa Writing Program’s website.

English Language Institute (ELI) Placement Exam Non-native speakers of English may be required to take the _ UH Ma noa English Language Institute (ELI) placement exam.

The test is designed to measure your ability of academic English. The results will determine which ELI classes, if any, will be most helpful for you. _ If your English is adequate for full-time study at UH Ma noa, you will be exempted from all ELI classes. Some departments require that you pass a placement exam before you may enroll in a particular course. Others have policies that determine which course you will be placed into.

Please refer to the department for more information. Discuss which exams you may need to take with your academic advisor and register to take the exam prior to registration for the applicable course. Refer to the registration guide for test dates and registration procedures.

Music All music majors must report for mandatory advising every semester. Students planning to register for restricted music courses, variable credit music courses, or applied music courses, which require departmental approval, must obtain approval (and Course Reference Numbers for courses not shown on the Check Class Availability course listings) inperson during these dates from the appropriate Music Department personnel (advisor or chairperson).

The overall purpose of Orientation is to help you make a smooth transition to University life. This experience will help to set you up for success and active learning. The payment deadline is January 21, 2015 at 4:00 pm HST. Your bill will be viewable through MyUH after you register. A tuition bill will not be mailed to you. Parking The Lower Campus and Dole Street Parking Structures are available for student permit or daily parking. Parking permits may be reserved on completion of each semester's course registration. Demand does exceed supply of spaces, however, and availability of parking permits (like classes) is based on class standing. If you can share a ride, carpool permits are usually in ample supply.

Commuter Services encourages using transportation modes other than driving, but if you must drive and didn't receive a permit, a limited number of spaces are available on a daily-fee basis in the campus parking structures. There are also off-campus parking lots managed by businesses in the vicinity.

TheBus _ Regular day students at UH Ma noa who have paid their student fees qualify for unlimited free bus fare during the Fall and Spring semesters through the U-Pass program.
