SAFE AND SECURE CAMPUS UH Manoa is one of the safest and most secure campuses in the U.S. Among the most attended universities in the U.S., UH Manoa is ranked seventh in safety resources (College Stats, 2017). UH Manoa is also ranked 74 in safety out of 2,167 four year colleges and universities (Alarms.org, 2017). This is due to 24-hour security officers on duty, emergency call boxes throughout the campus, safety escort services, a safety and emergency mobile application, and a comprehensive public safety website.

RAINBOW INVITATIONAL Since 1979, the Rainbow Invitational is an annual event where local high school band students are invited to participate in a showcase at Aloha Stadium.

“Hapu‘u ‘Ilima Mauka To Makai” From the native Hapu‘u tree fern found in Manoa valley to the O‘ahu island flower ‘ilima found growing on the coast, this illustration embodies the resources found within the ahupua‘a of Waik-ık-ı. An ahupua‘a is a traditional land division that encompasses a watershed extending from mauka to makai (mountain to ocean). Traditionally in Hawai‘i, community boundaries were defined by watersheds that provided all the resources for sustainable living: fish, agriculture, consistent fresh water, and upland forests reserves. Wise management fostered a thriving community. Today the ahupua‘a of Waik-ık-ı continues to be one of the most abundant and prosperous.
