ACCREDITATION

We are part of an elite group of less than 10 percent of the world’s business schools that achieved business and accounting accreditation from AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. UHCL is also the only business school in the City of Houston to offer an AACSB accredited online MBA program.

For example, our students provided critical research information for Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership and for The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston’s Critical Burn Unit.

GRADUATE PROGRAMS

ACCOUNTING Our master’s program in Accounting is one of only 168 programs in the world with separate accounting accreditation from AACSB International.

Take advantage of convenient day and evening classes to enhance your understanding of complex business issues, focusing on the critical thinking and technical knowledge expected among prospective employers.

The program prepares you for the Certified Public Accountancy exam and offers an optional concentration in management information systems.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT One of the nation’s most well-established Environmental Management degree programs, our curriculum is infused with input from numerous industry, governmental, consulting and non-profit organizations. We create tomorrow’s leaders who are needed to address some of our world’s most critical challenges. You will build a strong knowledge base in business management, environmental law, environmental assessment and pollution control technology.

FINANCE From gaining financial manager qualifications to certification exam preparation, our Finance program helps you reach the top of your game. Learn from outstanding instructors; 95 percent of all courses are taught by Ph.D.s. Pursue the optional healthcare administration concentration, prepare for the Certified Treasury Professional exam or train for the Chartered Financial Analyst exam. You also have the option of getting your degree online or on campus.

HEALTHCARE ADMINISTRATION With classes offered in the world’s largest medical center, our Healthcare Administration program connects you to top-ranked health care organizations. Develop knowledge in hospital operations, health care architecture, financial analysis and marketing. Students participate in residencies at such recognized medical institutions as MD Anderson Cancer Center and Houston Methodist Hospital.

MBA Perfect for the busy professional, our comprehensive MBA program emphasizes leadership, strategic thinking and quantitative analysis, and prepares graduates for a wide range of professional positions.

Select a concentration that fits your career objective: international business, finance, human resource management or management of technology. And, we are the only AACSB accredited business school in Houston to offer an online MBA program.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT UHCL offers one of the nation’s first competency-based Human Resource programs certified by the Society for Human Resource Management, a distinction held by less than 150 programs nationwide, and the only accredited online graduate program of its kind in the region.

Achieve competency in multiple HR disciplines including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, development and legal issues.

UHCL’s powerful dual MHA/MBA program is accredited by AACSB International. Learn from some of the best in their fields, including former CEOs of health care companies.

With classes offered at the Texas Medical Center, students participate in residencies at nationally recognized medical institutions. And, many of our alumni now serve these prestigious institutions, including Memorial Hermann, St. Luke’s and Texas Children’s Hospital.

MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS Graduates of the Management Information Systems program become skilled at balancing technical expertise with business savvy. Build a solid understanding of business processes and gain technical expertise in IT architecture, software development, programming and more. Unique from other universities, UHCL prepares you for numerous industry certifications in business applications development, computer networking/security, database development/ administration and information systems management.

Our students boast a 90 percent pass rate on certification exams.

One of the best things about the program was having the opportunity to participate in classes with business and health care professionals of diverse industry backgrounds. I learned a tremendous amount working on various team projects with NASA engineers, senior health care leaders, physicians, nurses, attorneys and many other professionals with an array of industry expertise. I often learned as much from my classmates as I did from my professors as they brought real-world experience into class projects and discussions.
