CFCS VIII Postponed to 14th to 19th May 2023

CHANGING FACES CHANGING SPACES Dear Community and Partners, Last year we wrote to you with the exciting news that we would be holding CFCS VIII in October 2022. As you all know CFCS was created in the spirit of changing faces and changing spaces both within our movements and our communities as well as in the societies that we all live in. Listening for us at UHAI is a Political Act and we have been listening and after careful consideration, we have decided to move the date for the next the 8th Changing Faces Changing Spaces Conference to 14th - 19th May, 2023. Now in its 8th iteration, the conference, which first took place in 2007, and founded us, as the first indigenous African Activist fund, continues to serve as a platform for Pan African sex worker and LGBTIQ+ movements and their allies, to deliberate, strategize and share the experiences that impact our community movements. Given its activist origins, and our continued commitment to activist leadership, CFCS as a movement space, continues to be curated by the same movements that first convened it. The CFCS Taskforce which will be composed of members of our communities, will be fully constituted by May 31st 2022. We would like to thank everyone who took time to apply to be a part of the TaskForce. As always, we value your views and we invite you to share your views on what you would like to see as a change of faces and a change in spaces in order for us to co-create a CFCS VIII that is reflective of you, our communities and one that speaks to our lived realities. Please reach out to us via cfcs@uhai-eashri.org With Revolutionary Love, Dr. Stellah Wairimu Bosire and Mukami Marete
