Dear Community and Partners, We are aware of anonymous emails from an alleged "Board Member" of UHAI shared publicly. We want to categorically state that the email did not come from the Board of UHAI or any Board member. We are treating the incident as email spoofing and urge all our communities and partners to refrain from sharing personal information to this address The UHAI Board is committed to this institution which is critical to us all in supporting the gender and sexual minorities and sex workers communities in Eastern Africa to which we also belong. We would also like to share some developments since our last communique on May 27th 2022. On June 20th 2022, we received Dr. Stellah’s notice to resign and we accepted it. On June 30th, we further communicated to Dr. Stellah our decision to offer payment of her final dues in lieu of her six months notice ending in December 2022. On Friday, 8th July, we received news that Dr. Stellah was critically ill. We are deeply saddened by Dr. Stellah’s illness and we are in solidarity with her friends and family. Through UHAI’s medical cover and internal resources for mental health support we believe that Dr. Stellah is receiving the best care possible. This cover runs the course of her notice period till 19th December 2022.
