Social Justice Curriculum:

PrOSEAD ™ (pronounced “proceed”) is an acronym for a curriculum framework officially known as

Addressing the Bases of Power, Oppression, Social Justice, Evidence-Informed Practice, Advocacy, and Diversity

The easy-to-remember mnemonic device reflects the school’s commitment to integrating the most current evidence-informed practices with social work’s ongoing advocacy for social justice.

“Beginning in 2019, all majors will contain content that addresses issues of power, oppression, social justice, evidence-informed practice, advocacy and diversity,” said Associate Dean Shari Miller. “Whether a student earns a degree in social work or nonprofit management and leadership, the PrOSEAD™ philosophy will provide a critical and practical understanding of how to address injustice.”
