ABOUT THE UFW FOUNDATION For 15 years, the UFW Foundation has mobilized farm workers and their organizations across the country to advocate for more equitable policies, such as immigration reform, pesticide protections, heat standards, hazard pay, and other worker protections.

Our mission is to empower communities to ensure human dignity by engaging constituents in systemic change to break the cycle of poverty while also providing critical services.

01 - Immigration Services The UFW is the largest federally accredited immigration legal service provider in the state of California. We have offices in California, Washington, Arizona, Michigan, Washington D.C., with plans to expand to Georgia.

In 2020, the UFW Foundation processed 3, 330 affirmative action cases, 110 removal defense intakes and 620 DACA cases through our Community Colleges Program.

02 - Emergency Relief Assistance Following the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic, undocumented farm workers were disproportionately affected and ineligible for larger relief programs. We quickly pivoted to provide critical disaster relief for farmworkers and undocumented immigrants, and their families.

Farm Workers sacrifice so much to put food on our tables. They are not able to go back to visit their family, don't have paid leave, and work before the sun comes up and when sun comes down.

In 2020 alone, we distributed over 189,000 meals, 50,143 food boxes, 300,000 masks, and cash distribution cards to 39,440 individuals.

03 - Advocacy and Civic Engagement The UFW Foundation strongly believes in the power of organizing and empowering communities to achieve human dignity for all.

The Systemic Change department aims to build a strong base of farm worker immigration activists through direct outreach, virtual house meetings, direct actions, legislative meetings and worker leadership development.

Our impact comes from collecting testimonies from farm worker constituents that highlight the need for legislation and applying political pressure in support of the Farm Workforce Modernization Act.

In 2021, the UFW Foundation has distributed the following to our farm worker communities: 9,605 food cash cards and 97 cards for food distribution.

46,733 emergency food boxes and 47,025 meals through a collaboration with World Central Kitchen and 42 restaurants.

25,454 COVID-19 vaccines through events in coordination with local public health departments and vaccinators.

67,529 masks and PPE supplies.
