About us Universidad de Las AmĂŠricas was founded in 1994 and is the largest private university in Ecuador. Its four campuses, located in north of Quito, and a research farm, located two hours west of the capital, offer more than 40 different programs. UDLA has modern facilities equipped with state-of-theart technology: auditoriums, libraries, exposition halls, computer rooms, outdoor patio areas, research labs and design workshops. UDLAPark, the newest campus, has incorporated solar panels to generate a percentage of the energy it consumes. Students, professors and researchers use these facilities for research activities, training, community work, demonstrations, practicums and more.

Learn about Ecuador Ecuador is one of the smallest countries in South America; however, it is a rich country in cultural, geographical and biological diversity. In Ecuador it is possible to explore the highlands and snowcapped volcanoes in the Andes Mountains; the dry forests, beaches and mangroves of the Pacific coast; the tropical forests of the Amazon; and, of course, the incredible biodiversity of the Galapagos Islands.
It’s easy and cheap to get around the country using public transportation, which makes traveling and exploring perfect for a student budget.
Discover Quito Quito, the capital of Ecuador, is located in the heart of the Andes, north of the Equator. It is known as the city of “eternal spring”. The temperature averages 20° C during the day, 9° C at night. The dry season lasts from June to September and the rainy season from October to May.
Quito is a vibrant modern city and has the best preserved historical area in Latin America, being the first designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, in 1978. This historical area, one of the region´s most beautiful ones, is home to extraordinary colonial art.

Research UDLA is committed to generating new knowledge through its Research Department. Nowadays, the University has 418 internationally indexed publications by its national and international scholars. This represents an increase of more than 50% in the last two years as a result of UDLA’s growing interest and investment in research and innovation. The cost of an exchange program at UDLA depends on the type of program, length and whether or not your university has an agreement with UDLA.

Admissions Requirements: •Two completed academic years of university •International health insurance (this can be purchased throughUDLA) •Spanish proficiency: minimum Level B2, which is evaluated using the Cervantes exam and an interview in Spanish • Approval from the home university

Student Services • Clubs UDLA offers 20 sports, art and culture oriented clubs for students looking for a way to spend their free time and complement their academic work with extracurricular activities. Some of the club options include: • Men’s and women’s soccer • Volleyball • Aerobics • Martial arts • Choir • Capoeira • Yoga • Film • Tropical dance • Tango • Belly dance • Magic • Speech • United Nations • Tourism Club The Tourism Club began with a group of students from the School of Hospitality and Tourism who wanted to provide students and non-students with a unique tourism experience. This club is open to international students and offers trips, workshops and discounts on restaurants, hotels and other activities. It also coordinates field trips and interesting lectures. The membership costs $15 per year. • Internship Office The Internship Office facilitates UDLA students’ placement into internships according to their areas of interest and study. • Dental Office A variety of dental services at a discounted rate to students and faculty is offered at Colon Campus.
• Medical Centers UDLA’s main medical center is located at UDLAPark, but each campus is equipped with its own clinic. The medical center and clinics care for students who don’t require a hospital visit and provide first aid and prescriptions when needed. The center employs a highly-qualified team of medical professionals prepared for all medical emergencies. For students who need to be transferred to a hospital, the center has a private ambulance service on call 24 hours a day. • Psychology Center The Psychology Center offers counseling and psychological services to adults, children, couples and families. UDLA students have access to discounted prices. It offers the following services: • Psychotherapy •Psychological counseling • Psychological evaluation and diagnosis • Parent counseling • Reports for psychological evaluation
