Our priorities don’t end there. The relationships we get to build with families throughout the year are very important to us. We take pride in the level of service that we are able to provide to our customers. Whether it be clipping/fitting at shows, trimming feet or even helping get heifers bred, we work hard to be there every step of the way.

If you have been a part of our program, welcome back and thank you for your continued support. If you are new to Barton Cattle, we’d love to visit with you about the offering and help make you a part of the crew!

Our criteria for the females that make the Stamped for Success sale starts with the basics of build and structural quality. Heifers that are built to last and not only have their day in the show ring, but also be productive as cows in the end. Then, we focus on the bells and whistles of extra width, power and “wow” factor. This set has been hand picked from across the country as well as the top end of our homegrown crop.

TX

Barton cattle is family owned and operated by Chuck, Michele, Chris and Colton Barton. In the spring of 2017, we had our first online sale that consisted of a handful of heifers and one bull. We have grown tremendously into an operation that we are very proud of, and a brand becoming more recognized in the south. This year we set out to make the sale bigger and better than before. I believe this group of females speak for themselves to prove that we accomplished that goal.

A book could be written about how this one strikes you phenotypically, and a separate one could be written about the winning her full sister did for the Ferree family, but we think you should be the author here and write your own book based on how many banners you plan to hang or the offspring she can produce, because this one has the potential to do it all. If you’re like Chris and I, you’ll start by studying this one at the ground. She stands on the correct foot shape and all the cushion off her hip and hind leg, which transitions to an extremely maternal center body, with a sleek and cocky neck attachment and chest floor. Couple this with how impressive this one is on hoof, her full sister’s campaign is one that certainly needs highlighted, as she was the Reserve Champion ROV Female at the 2021 Cattlemen’s Congress for Mercedes Ferree along with many other notable accolades. With full confidence we think that this one is intriguing in all ways, right for the times, and has the ability to make a stamp on the angus breed and we can’t wait to follow her around! 7

Quite possibly the most unique female in the sale for a number of reasons. When you study this female, I think you find pretty quickly that she has a lot of extremely wild pieces that have loads of potential for the show ring and as a donor. She’s a massive footed, rugged built animal with the right skeletal build, explosive in her rib cage, and a front 1/3 that is second to none. The way this one carries her head and presents herself with so much presence is something that’s very hard to come by. Her pedigree is one that has more than enough proof behind it, being a daughter of the breed changing Dameron First Class and FCF Phyllis 532, a First-N-Goal daughter that has been making a splash for the Udell and Adcock operations recently, this one is also a maternal sister to the 2022 NJAS Champion Owned Female. There are so many possibilities ahead for the lot 2 female, and we are very excited to see what this one does down the road!

This female has been one of our favorites in the set since we picked her up at Udell’s for a number of reasons. She’s extra stout and big boned, dense bodied and explosive ribbed, yet still so sound at the surface. She combines all of that with being extremely elevated in her front structure, both in her chest floor and how her neck attachment comes out of her shoulder. This one is as fault free as anything in the sale and combines the most intriguing pieces that many could agree the Angus breed would like to see more of. In addition to everything that her phenotype brings to the table, she is also a granddaughter to the 532 donor owned by Udell and Adcock, who produced the Champion Owned Female at the 2022 NJAS this year. The road to success for this one is wide open, and we think this female is extremely high quality. 9

Ciara’s family raised this heifer, and we are very thankful the Raithel’s gave us the opportunity to put her in our sale. Study this one from any angle and I think you like her more and more as you continue to look at her. She’s extra sound at the surface, bold and robust in her rib cage, pried apart from the ground up with a wide pin set and still maintains an elegant front one third.. To add to the awesome phenotype this one hits you with, she also has that awesome, fuzzy hair and I’d call her first-year showman gentle. Express has made a splash since his come about by stamping them with an undeniable look and all the right pieces to be high producing females and we think this one definitely fits the bill. If you study the bottom side of this one’s pedigree, you’ll find her great grand dam is the 1X cow now owned by J6 Farms who started the quest for purple when she was crowned the Champion ROV Angus Female in Kansas City for Conley’s in 2011. Power is in the phenotype and in the pedigree and I think someone is going to look very smart with this one down the road. 10

The last one in the Angus line up, but certainly not lacking any quality! I haven’t seen many Hill Valley Reckoning daughters, but if they are anything like this one, I’d say some people are going to be very pleased that they used him. This natural calf off of Udell’s 2201 donor is one that we think puts together a lot of really good things into one package. She’s as loose structured and flexible as anything in the sale, extremely maternal in her rib cage, very attractive and sleek in her front 1/3 and awesome haired to boot. The progeny of SLL Ellie 2201 bring a crowd to Sioux City, Iowa every year because they are just flat good cattle that seem to find the backdrop often. Well, we brought one down here to Jarrell because we think she can follow the footsteps of her kin, and we are very excited to offer her to you!

consistently

When Chris and I decided we wanted to find a Charolais to put in the sale we said she had to be really good. If you’re familiar with the breed, or a member of the cattle industry at all, you know the Boyert- Core program is the place to go to find an elite white one, and we were pretty pumped when they were willing to send one down to Texas. This Absolute daughter hit us hard when we saw her for the first time in Pleasantville, and she’s done nothing but get better every day since she’s been here. Starting at the ground, this one is as correct built and flexible as they come, stout and pried apart from behind, with loads of muscle that lays in exceptionally smooth and certainly doesn’t hinder this one being dense bodied. For as stout and rugged as she is, she’s still extremely cocky about her front end and tucked up in her chest floor to give her all the eye appeal needed to hang some banners. For one of this breed, her hair has gotten really awesome since she’s been here as well. The sky is the limit for this one whether that’s in the show ring or the donor pen, and we think she’s pretty fly for a white girl.

The second of two females to make their way down to Texas from the Boyert-Core program and one we are very excited about. I love how this one motors around and how flexible and comfortable she is off all four corners. This is for sure the most dense bodied female in the sale with loads of cow factor to the center portion of her body. With how sound and broody she is shoulders back, she certainly doesn’t sacrifice anything shoulders forward. Being the oldest female in the sale, she’s extremely sleek and clean in her throat and chest floor. The possibility of her success as a show heifer and a cow has plenty of promise to it as well, her mother was third overall Chianina female at Jr. Nationals for the Frye family, and the Boyert-Core crew is offering some very high quality maternal sisters to this female this fall. This one is a little harder haired right now, but I’m going to side with the pedigree here and say she will be really fuzzy later on, and if you have parents and siblings like I did that encouraged elbow grease year round she’ll be just fine.

SSTO CAITLYN 5818C, DAM OF LOTS 8-11 J6 Caitlyn 275H, Maternal Sister to Lots 8-11 14

When Mark Blake invited us to J6 to look at babies to put in the sale, we were pretty over the moon excited, and these 5818C daughters intrigued us in every way and we couldn’t be more proud to be able to offer them to you. I could write a mile long page about this individual, but most of the public will probably look past the footnote anyway so I’ll keep it simple, this one is incredible. When Mark came down to our place to deliver a couple more heifers, he walked out to see this one and said, “This thing is exotic”, and I don’t think there is a better word to describe her. I’ve told a few people I don’t think I’ve ever seen a heifer with such perfect feet, and then add on how free and loose her structure is and it excites us even more. She’s so robust and expressive in her rib cage, and yet so tucked up in her chest floor and so petite and proud of her front 1/3, she’s just undeniable no matter the angle you study her from. Some guys like to pin the term “unicorn” on the ones that are very hard to come by. Rather than a term, I’ll just tell you straight and give you my final remark on the animal; buy her, or really wish you did every time you see her at the next show, and even more so when you see what she makes in production.

The lone purebred Limousine in the sale and one of the skinniest in her condition, but she certainly doesn’t lack any quality compared to her sisters. These 5818C daughters are all very similar in their kind, and if you truly study this one, you’ll see she has all the right pieces to make someone look really smart when she’s a bred. Awesome structured, dense bodied with the right shape to her underline, tucked up in her chest floor, wild looking and very soft haired for a purebred. If there is one to be called a sleeper in the sale, I’d say this is her without a doubt, and on the right feed program with some time we think this one is going to hang with the best of them.

Honestly, if you were to ask us which one of the 5818C daughters is our favorite, it’ll probably depend on the day because they are all so special in their own way. I don’t think you could go wrong owning any of them. This one came to us from J6 a couple weeks later than some of the other ones did, but her and the next lot have done nothing but get better and better every day. When you analyze this 24 Karat daughter, you’ll see she’s very loose structured, very dense bodied and never fails to strike a pose, and boy it’s fun to look at when she does. She’s as tucked up in her chest floor as one needs to be, her neck comes out of her shoulder as perfect as they make them, and she carries it all so proudly. This is certainly the softest haired sister of the group and one that just has so many cool pieces to her all in one package. We are very excited about this female’s future and think she’s going to have an awesome future.

The last of the 5818C daughters in the sale and the first one we found when we looked through calves at J6. This one struck us hard the first time we saw her, and she’s done nothing but get better since that day. Though she’s pretty raw in her condition right now, we think the future possibilities for this female are endless. We love her build in terms of how loose structured, deep heeled, and great footed she is. She catches your eye right away with her presence and how proud fronted she is which is accompanied by an extra sleek throat and chest floor. With as stout and wild fronted as she is, her rib shape has only gotten denser since she’s been here. Take your pick on which one of these sisters is your favorite because we can’t pinpoint it, all I can say is that all 4 of them are extremely high quality and each of them has the ability to have a big day in the right hands.

Our good friend Brady Edge sent this heifer down as well as the Red Angus further down the list and we think they are very high quality stock. This Lim-flex is a little skinnier in her condition than the rest, but we certainly think she has all the parts to make a really nice female down the road. Sound at the ground, stout and pried apart from all angles, very sleek fronted and up headed with awesome hair to top it all off. Halas had a lot of fans when he was first introduced, and I’ve heard lots of good things from people that have used him. On the bottom side of this one’s pedigree you’ll find that her grand dam is the AUTO Bette cow that is found in a lot of successful pedigrees in the Limousin breed. Give this heifer some time on feed and I think you’ll be very pleased with your purchase.

The last of the Limi’s in the lineup and the only home raised one we have to offer this year. This one has been pretty special to us since the day she fell out, and she’s one we think has worlds of future in the show ring and as a donor cow in production. We’ve struggled to get daughters on the ground out of our Daisy donor, hence the reason we are offering ½ embryo interest with no possession on this female. Study this one however you’d like, and if you’re like us, you’ll see pretty fast this one has all the true cow power pieces to make very impressive offspring in her future. Plenty flexible in her structure, extra stout from behind, packed full of muscle that blends exceptionally smooth, dense bodied and still comes with an extremely proud presence of her front one third. 24 Karat sired cattle have been hot in the show ring and Daisy made her mark during her campaign as well, we think there’s a statement to be made with this female.

When Sweet Willie hit the internet, we decided we liked the calves that were being marketed and really liked the outcross pedigree that he offered and ended up using him in a multitude of ways. Well, between the two females offered in the sale and a couple different spring bulls we have, we all think that was an extremely good call. This High Maine female is one that we think is extremely high quality. Unfortunately, we can’t control how early one wants to join the rest of the group at the creep feeder, so this one comes at you in a little greener condition, but since she’s been here at the barn she’s been a vigorous eater and boy has she shaped up. High Maine females with this kind of flex to their rear two don’t typically come around often, especially when they are as explosive bodied and stout as this female is. We probably should be keeping her for a cow with as fundamentally correct as she is while offering an outcross pedigree, but bills are inevitable so here she is!

The two Abbie’s in the sale this year both share one trait even being very different in their kind, and that is how soft structured they are, which is something I believe the Maine breed needs a little more of. As green as this one is, truly study her and one day with time and feed you will really like what you have. A very sound structured, attractive, muscular female that has worlds of future ahead of her. When we bred Hennessy this way a lot of purebred Limousin guys questioned what we were thinking. Honestly sometimes we wondered the same thing, but we never had a doubt the outcome would be really cool. If you’re a Maine Anjou breeder, I encourage you to look at the outcross pedigree here and put a lot of thought into what this female brings to the table when it comes to making high Maine’s. She’s one of the younger heifers in the set, but one that we think is very intriguing to look at and has a really bright future ahead of her. Soft and flexible at the ground, big feet and legs, as stout featured as any one in the offering, with the good feeding type of rib shape and a super feminine chest floor and neck attachment. This one has started to hair up since we’ve had her in the barn and we have no doubt she can be really fuzzy when things cool off. Her mother, COBN Hennessy 022H hung many banners for our family, being the 2021 NJLSC Champion Bred and Owned Limousin Female, Champion Junior Limousin Female and Reserve Champion MOE Limousin Female at the 2022 Cattleman’s Congress. The second of two females to come from the razors edge in West Branch, Iowa, and if you’re familiar with Brady Edge and his family, you’ll know they’re pretty good at raising national champion red angus females. When Brady told me he had a red he wanted to send down, I got pretty pumped, and this one is the real deal. Very explosive in her rib shape, great structured and presents herself with an awesome front one third. This one comes from the heart of the Edge program, being a daughter of the Pistol Pete bull that Brady raised that we actually bred our 4 remaining reds to this year. Brady sold a full sister to this female last year that was very high quality, so the pedigree is tried and true and we think this one has worlds of future ahead of her both in the show ring and as a donor!

Tony raised this one up in Illinois and she’s a daughter of a really nice Mainetainer cow that Chris and Brittainy own together. This female out of the deceased JSUL Something About Mary is one that we think has a lot of future ahead of her. This one comes to you in a little bit greener condition, but that doesn’t hinder finding the good about her really fast. She’s a deep heeled, very flexible female that’s plenty stout and maternal bodied, and still very attractive through her front one third. We think this one holds her own if she stays in Texas and shows as an ORB and think she can go on to make a tremendous cow when it’s all said and done.
