B Cattle Barton cattle is family owned and operated by Chuck, Michele, Chris and Colton Barton. In the spring of 2017, we had our first online sale that consisted of a handful of heifers and one bull. We have grown tremendously into an operation that we are very proud of, and a brand becoming more recognized in the south. This year we set out to make the sale bigger and better than before. I believe this group of females speak for themselves to prove that we accomplished that goal. Our criteria for the females that make the Stamped for Success sale starts with the basics of build and structural quality. Heifers that are built to last and not only have their day in the show ring, but also be productive as cows in the end. Then, we focus on the bells and whistles of extra width, power and “wow” factor. This set has been hand picked from across the country as well as the top end of our homegrown crop. Our priorities don’t end there. The relationships we get to build with families throughout the year are very important to us. We take pride in the level of service that we are able to provide to our customers. Whether it be clipping/ fitting at shows, trimming feet or even helping get heifers bred, we work hard to be there every step of the way. If you have been a part of our program, welcome back and thank you for your continued support. If you are new to Barton Cattle, we’d love to visit with you about the offering and help make you a part of the crew!

KEYMURA 1099
Sull Keymura’s First 4086 Dam of Lot 1 We decided to lot the heifers in alphabetical order this year by breed, which I’ve always felt is really difficult to do unless you have a smoke show of an angus, which is exactly what we feel this Tejas daughter is. Although she comes in a greener package, this one is nothing short of intriguing no matter where you study her. She’s a super feminine female that’s as maternal bodied as they come, while still able to travel on a great build. If you need more to study, the pedigree behind Lot 1 is as strong as they come. The 4086 cow was a champion herself for Udell Cattle Company as the 2015 NAILE Jr. Angus show champion, proving the power in the blood here. This one checks all the boxes to be an extremely good big bred, and a terrific cow afterwards for any program.

KEYMURA KATY 1127
UDE Keymura Katy 0252 Full sister to Lot 2 If you like to buy females with the focus of finding future donor cows, lot 2 is one that needs to be studied with great thought. This February daughter of Dameron First Class is as sappy bellied and bold sprung as one can be made, and she still motors on a great set of feet and legs. Last year at Udell Cattle, three full sisters to this female averaged $35,000 and have seen great success since then, UDE Keymura Katy 0252 won the May Division at Cattlemen’s Congress this spring. There is so much potential here, and we think this one has all the right parts to be a great donor to produce high quality Angus daughters.

If you study hard, I think you will agree that this one has all the right pieces to be a really competitive big bred. She’s long and thin necked, has the right rib shape, flawless structured and awesome haired. Take note that lot 3 is also the natural calf of the well-known Jalynn cow that has produced countless champions in the Chianina world over multiple years. When we decided we were going to bring this one to Texas, Tim Schaeffer’s words were, “When all the lines are there, and the pedigree is proven, it’ll all work out.”

Whether we’re talking about phenotype, pedigree or potential, this 24 Karat female excites us a large amount. She’s a stout featured female that’s great structured, bold ribbed and plenty neat through her neck and chest, with awesome hair to boot. In addition, she’s a maternal sister to the Guyer family’s Champion Chianina Female in Louisville last year, and full sisters have held high value at Tim Schaeffer’s in the recent past. The proof is laid out for this female already, all she needs is a good feed program and we think this one can hang some banners. We would like to add that this females attitude would not be best paired with a younger showman. 8

When we walked in the pen to look at heifers at Schaeffer’s, this female happened to be the first one that walked out and cocked off, and boy did she excite us. It’s really difficult to make one this stout and pried apart, yet still good structured, big barreled and easy on the eyes. All of the pieces that this Bankroll female puts together in one package should tell you that she’ll make a tremendous cow down the road. The pedigree here also holds so much value, with the Who Da Man x 6640 mating that needs no introduction to the Chianina breed. To add to how versatile of a cow she has the potential to be, she’s also a half-blood Simmental, making the possibilities of progeny endless.

In the past few years, we have tried to grow in the breed that sparked our older sister’s interest in show cattle, Limousins. When we bought our first Limousin female in 2017, we had very big goals, make really good ones that excel in the show ring, and then have the ability to go out and make productive dams for any operation. When you study Lot 6, I think you’ll see we reached our goal. This one is as eye catching as it gets, with a long neck that comes out as high as it can, with a tight throat latch that sets her apart in terms of wow factor. With that, she’s cowy and maternal in her rib cage, and still maintains the deep heels and awesome skeleton that us structure freaks gravitate towards quickly. If your focus is genetic potential, or even history, this one is as proven as they get. Her mother was the Reserve Champion Purebred Cow/Calf Pair at JR Nationals last summer. In addition, the flush mate to lot 6’s mother was one that gained lots of popularity in the show ring, LFL Daisy 6061D. Power is in pedigree here, and for reassurance, be sure to check out lot 7. *Seller retains 1/3 Embryo Interest 10

LFL Daisy 6061D ET Dam of Lot 7 Here is the second hidden gem I mentioned earlier! I could talk about this one all day long, from her show ring potential, to her already proven pedigree. You notice really fast that this is possibly the greenest female in the sale, but I strongly feel she checks all the boxes to be extremely competitive in a few months. Structure here is incredible, the ring presence and look are undeniable, and she has the right body shape to be plenty easy doing on the right feed program. The Crown Royal x Aviator mating has worked exceptionally well in our program, and it’s just the icing on the cake that she’s a daughter of our Daisy donor that hung a lot of banners in 2017 and 2018. With that said, this is the first heifer calf that Daisy has produced to date, and this heifer will be hard for us to part with. *Seller retains 1/3 Embryo Interest

Back in the spring, I asked Jason Lyman what was left in the Stowers dispersal, and he informed me that there was one donor left to look at. Long story short, all it took was a cell phone video for us to get excited enough to buy the pair, and this happens to be the calf. This one screams future donor cow. Super attractive through her front end, bold and cowy in her rib shape, big pinned, and an extremely flexible and comfortable hind leg. Her mother saw success in the show ring, being calf champion at Junior Nationals for the Stowers family, and we think this daughter has the potential to hang banners herself, as well as produce daughters to do the same. 11

Here’s the oldest heifer in the offering, and one that we like so many things about. When one has so many donor cow like pieces at this age, we can’t help but get excited about what she’ll be able to do when you turn her out to the pasture. Her structure and joint work is flawless, her rib shape is as maternally designed as one can get, and she’s still plenty attractive and elegant through her front end. With the pedigree combination backing this female, she’s bound to be a fuzz ball this winter when it cools off to boot. This one checks all the boxes and then some, if we could keep them all, she definitely wouldn’t leave the barn! 12

BOE Miss Jolene For a Purebred Maine, there are so many things this female puts together that don’t normally happen in one package. Flawless in her build, expressive in her rib cage, tons of ring presence and bound to be super hairy. There is plenty of purple in this HAA Wisdom 505S ones pedigree as well, as her grand dam, “MJ”, was a triple crown winning female BNWZ Lady Di 25Z herself. When Dad and I found this heifer’s sire in the yards at Denver we knew we had to try him. Though this is the first female we’ve been able to offer, we believe she’s the right kind. Definitely one of the greenest in the entire offering and has some catching up to do, but the pieces are there. Big pinned, good bodied and feminine designed, not only does she work in the show ring but this one makes a high quality, money making kind of cow. We always liked feeding green ones here. “Which one is your favorite?” Gets asked by everyone that sees the set every year, and often times we can’t answer that on the spot, because it changes every day. I will tell you this has been one of the most intriguing females we have laid eyes on since the start. If you like to study cattle the way we do, this Rebel daughter sorts to the top real fast. From the bottom up, her foot shape, structure and build are impeccable. Her rib cage reads to be extremely maternal, paired with a super feminine neck and chest. Power is also in the pedigree, as this one’s mother was a Division Champion at Louisville, and her Grand Dam was the Champion Percentage Simmental Female at the 2013 NWSS, as well as racking many other accolades and being a prominent donor for Udell Cattle Company. Where do we even start on this one. She’s a purebred Simmental, with an awesome pedigree and she’s red, but those things are obvious. Creatures of this quality don’t come around all that often. From the ground up you can’t build one better. Impeccable feet, deep heel and all the right angles to this one’s skeleton allow her to motor around unlike most any Simmental we’ve ever seen. Probably what caught your eye was the extras because this heifer is as proud of herself as we are. She blends the giraffe front end so sought after today, so smoothly into the donor cow bold rib cage and soft center body to find herself on the flush list year after year. We know her as crunchy, she’s one of our favorites, and if you can’t find the quality in one like her, we just can’t help you. 16

We were laying over at Hudlow’s when he asked if we wanted to look at babies, naturally it didn’t take much talking into. Lot 15 strutted across the field and it was an easy decision that we wanted her to come to Texas. A Half blood Simmental that can be this good built, well designed and functional should not be so good looking, but this one is. If you are a Texas feeder and feel that the ORB division is too tough, it’s this kind right here as a big bred that find their way to the backdrop. Yet she is still good enough to compete in the percentage shows across the country. We are pretty forward here and want it stated that this heifer is not for the first year showman, but the extra attitude that she has contributes to the show ring presence that this one has to offer.

We are still new to raising these Simmental heifers, but I believe this one proves we’re headed in the right direction. Lot 17 combines some really hard to put together pieces. Up headed and proud when she comes into the pen yet she feeds back into a bold, soft, maternal body shape. Where she sets herself apart is at the ground though. Big, square footed, deep heeled and built to last. The running gears here are hard to find all the time. This one can be competitive at many levels and then after her show career ends, she’ll be productive for years to come.
