There are no pressures, exams or grades - just relax and enjoy! Classes meet once or twice weekly. All GauchoREC classes are open to UCSB students, faculty, staff, alumni, affiliates and community members. Holidays have been taken into consideration and most class dates have been extended to provide makeup sessions. UCSB students are eligible for a reduced fee. In order to receive the student rate, be sure you use your Net ID logging in to your online account and all UCSB BARC fees for the quarter must be paid. More info about class fees, locations, refunds, transfers, and parking can be found on page 6. Gaucho REC will offer two sessions this summer: Session A starting 6/20 and Session B starting 8/2. • CLASS FEES: Students may watch the first class at no cost. In order to participate, you must pay for the class in full or pay a $5 drop in fee to the door monitor (only available for some classes). Drop in fee option is only available at the first class session and will not be applied to the class fee should you decide to continue attending. Students may not pay on a class-by-class basis. Payment by cash, check or Visa/MasterCard – no BARC billing.

• REFUNDS: There are no refunds except those granted at the discretion of the administrative supervisor during the first two weeks of each quarter, should medical or other extenuating circumstances dictate.

• TRANSFERS to another class or section time may be made up until one week after the first class meeting.

Fun in the Summer Sun

S

chool is out, the sun is shining, and the children can’t wait to get out and have fun! They’re ready for swimming at the beach and exciting adventures at camp, and there’s no better place to do all things outdoor than at UCSB! During the school year, the campus is full of university students, but during the summer, the Department of Recreation opens our beautiful campus to you and your family by hosting several engaging, action-packed, and adventurous children’s programs.

This year, we are celebrating our UCSB Summer Day Camp’s 35th anniversary. Under Ray Robitaille’s direction, the Summer Day Camp has received numerous accolades, including “Best Summer Camp” by the Santa Barbara Independent reader’s poll. Children get to experience a wide range of activities from swimming in the Rec Cen pool to tackling the Adventure Ropes Rourse! Special events like Aloha day, Carnival days, and a talent show are highlights of the summer and

give children unique experiences.

All our UCSB camps aim to help children build self-esteem, create new friendships, and enjoy lasting memories with age-appropriate activities, experienced counselors, and qualified instructors.

We are dedicated to providing a welcoming, comfortable, and fun environment for all of our UCSB families and community members.
