ALL-LEVEL Open to participants of all fitness levels and riding experience.

Experience the most popular fitness trend of the decade! This is a progressive 8-week group cycling course that takes you through the world of endurance training. Workouts can be modified from high to low-intensity depending on your personal goals.

CARDIO KICKBOXING Martial arts style cardio workout to help you develop a strong mind and body connection. Learn proper technique for punches and kicks while ramping up your fitness level to increase cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, core integration and flexibility. No experience necessary!

CIRCUIT TRAINING Total body workout circuit style. This class offers stations of cardio, strength, plyometric and core training focus. Maximize calorie burn and total body training.

CYCLE & CORE 40 minutes of heart pumping and maximum calorie burning cycling followed by 10 minutes of core training.

ENDURANCE RIDE For the more experienced indoor cyclist who wants a longer ride.

This class will include all cycling drills but gives you a longer workout for maximum calorie burning!

H.I.I.T. HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) involves performing low to moderate intensity intervals alternated with high intensity intervals.

HIIT will accomplish two goals: it will help accelerate fat loss and improve aerobic and anaerobic endurance. HIITis known to produce very fast results in a short period of time and enhance athletic performance.

HIP HOP FITNESS Exercise in the form of high energy dance moves. Learn hip hop moves and boost your metabolism. Complete with core exercise.

LOWER BODY BURN Get ready to work that booty! This class combines resistance & weight training as well as cardio to improve your lower body strength.

We will utilize different forms of strength training to increase muscle endurance and flexibility, all in 50 minutes. All levels welcome!

PUMP IT! Train for strength results with an emphasis on good form and functional, qualitative movements! You’ll primarily use free weights and gravity as resistance with some stability balls and bands thrown in.

PUMP PLUS ABS Train for strength results with an emphasis on good form and functional, qualitative movements! We will primarily use free weights and gravity as resistance with some stability balls and bands thrown in.

PURE STRENGTH Traditional and cutting edge strength exercises using a variety of tools such as dumbbells, body bars, bands, kettle bells and body weight. Exercises are designed to maximize total body work and volume of training within the class timeframe.

R.I.P.P.E.D. Complete and total body workout, utilizing resistance and cardio training, which masterfully combines Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance - all components of R.I.P.P.E.D. will help you attain and maintain your physique in ways that are fun, safe, doable and extremely effective.

STEP INTERVAL If you like to pack in a time-efficient cardio and strength workout over lunch, then get ready to step, then work free-weights in timed intervals. The step patterns will be simple; the weights will focus on upper body muscular endurance.

TOTAL BODY TRAINING Get your heart pumping in this 50 minute total body workout.

Improve muscle strength and endurance using a combination of resistance & weight training, as well as cardio. All levels welcome!

UPPER BODY TONE UP Tone up your abs, arms and back in this 50 minute work out.

Improve muscle strength and endurance using free weights, resistance, body weight, cardio, and more. All levels welcome!

ZUMBA Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That's exactly what the ZumbaÂŽ program is all about. It's an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party that's moving millions of people toward joy and health.

PUMP & PLYOS This class combines all the benefits of a Pump workout with plyometric drills to maximize anaerobic training, power and calorie burining. Class style will vary to offer benefits of cross training. All levels welcome.

There are no pressures, exams or grades - just relax and enjoy! Classes meet once or twice weekly. All GauchoREC classes are open to UCSB students, faculty, staff, alumni, affiliates and community members. Holidays have been taken into consideration and most class dates have been extended to provide makeup sessions. UCSB students are eligible for a reduced fee. In order to receive the student rate, be sure you use your uMail address when you log in to your online account. All UCSB BARC fees for the quarter must be paid. • CLASS FEES: Students may watch the first class at no cost. In order to participate, you must pay for the class in full or pay a $5 drop in fee to the door monitor. Drop in fee option is only available at the first class session and will not be applied to the class fee should you decide to continue attending. Students may not pay on a class-by-class basis.

Payment by cash, check or Visa/MasterCard – no BARC billing.

• REFUNDS: There are no refunds except those granted at the discretion of the administrative supervisor during the first two weeks of each quarter, should medical or other extenuating circumstances dictate.

• TRANSFERS to another class or section time may be made up until one week after the first class meeting.

t’s time to clean out your closet, brush off your cleats, and put away the heavy jackets ––that’s right, it’s Spring in Santa Barbara! The season is blooming with opportunities to get involved at UCSB Recreation with some of our favorite Intramural Sports and other exciting activities. It is the perfect time to dive into Recreation with our most popular Intramural Sports like basketball or sand volleyball. Better yet, get even more adventurous and try out inner-tube water polo–– a more casual take on the thrilling game. Of course we’ve got the classics: soccer, golf, and tennis, which are perfect compliments to this glorious Spring weather.
