DEAR FRIENDS 2020 has been a year to remember! We were all called to navigate unexpected and uncharted obstacles. We hope that you and your loved ones are well, despite these truly unprecedented circumstances. While the past year has not gone as originally planned, we are so blessed to have your support as we weathered the storm & continue to move forward!

We are immensely proud of our dedicated team members who completely re-imagined their profession at a moment’s notice in order to best serve our families. The teachers who mastered new technology, employed new instruction methods, and went above and beyond to not only make their instruction accessible, but engaging.

The therapists who continued to ensure that children did not regress, switching gears and unrelenting in their dedication to unlocking the potential of every child. The administration team, and our Board of Directors, who behind the scenes, worked together to find solutions amidst the chaos. The donors and volunteers who continued to give their time, talent & treasure to support UCP Out of adversity comes innovation and we have so much to celebrate!

We distributed hundreds of education tools to students at home, including technology devices and classroom resources.

Our Therapy and Operations team launched Telemedicine for therapy services.

Our education team built a robust and interactive online learning platform.

Hundreds of meals and hygiene kits were distributed through our food pantry initiative.

Volunteers serving 300+ hours to support UCP initiatives We premiered UCP Live, which streamed enriching and educational content to children of all abilities through the collaboration of Dr. Rebecca Hines, UCF Graduate Students, and 46 “Edutainers” who inspired students.

We hosted our very first Evening at YOUR Palace Virtual Gala which welcomed a tremendous lineup of acclaimed celebrities and, through sponsorships, silent auction, and contributions, raised over $400,000!

To empower children with and without disabilities to achieve their potential by providing individualized support, education, and therapy services in an inclusive environment.

PROGRAMS SUPPORT We provide individualized support services for families navigating some of life’s biggest challenges. We believe that social and emotional health is vital in a child’s development.

Our Education Program utilizes projectbased learning, technology and art integration, and customized instruction. Our instruction is intended to be customized for each student.

UCP of Central Florida has re-imagined the elementary school experience by giving children with and without disabilities the opportunity to learn, grow, and play together at our inclusive campuses. With this re-imagined program we still maintain accountability and are SACS accredited.

We strive in cultivating a culture that celebrates diversity and empowers children to find their strengths and talents.

Our team of mental health professionals, and counselors work with families as they raise their children and create a strong foundation for a brighter future.

THERAPY Our team of Therapists provides individualized Physical, Occupational, and Speech-Language Therapy to clients and students from birth to age 21.

Our therapy services are crucial to achieving a child’s optimal functionality according to their abilities.

TRANSITIONAL LEARNING ACADEMY

BETA TEEN PARENT CONNECTION PROGRAM

Our TLA Campus gives young adults with disabilities, delays, and IEP’s a traditional Middle, High School, and Post Graduate experience in an environment that is inclusive, accessible, and tailored to their abilities.

UCP’s BETA Teen Parent & Connection Program is a unique program in our community supported by Orange County Public Schools and our friends at United Way. Adolescent mothers can be faced with the dilemma of raising a family at the expense of their education. The demands of motherhood, and social stigma among peers, make teen moms vulnerable to dropping out of school.

Our program provides these young moms a community where they can finish their school education while their babies receive free childcare and developmental screenings all on the same campus.

Mothers also receive counseling services, parenting labs, and, college and career coaching. These services help young mothers transition into motherhood while creating a path to success for themselves and their children.

Services

TLA students have access to a standard Middle/ High School Curriculum with customized instruction to fit their abilities and learning styles. We also offer job training, internship opportunities, and life skills for students transitioning into adulthood.

UCP Healthy West Orange Campus Coming Summer 2021

February 26, 2020 we purchased the 8-acre lot, future home of the new UCP WO campus. The vision for the new facility is a 25,000 sq ft, state of the art campus providing our SET of services.

Three expansions/moves later, we moved into our UCP West Orange first opened serving 50 children & their families in a storefront facility current 12,000 square foot building, once an indoor mini-golf center. Two 1,000 square foot annexes to on West Colonial Drive accommodate growing demands for our services were later on added.

The demand for UCP services continues to grow - 300 children applied for services in the last 18 months for our UCP West Orange Campus.

Our current facility is over capacity and there are 100 children on the wait list for services. In the Fall of 2019, we kicked off a quiet phase to fund a new campus in Winter Garden, to better meet the growing demand.

Fundraising 2019 Faces Behind the Miracles Breakfast This annual event provides an opportunity for individuals and other organizations to learn about UCP, our mission and how we serve our community. The event takes place over the course of an hour and guests are invited by designated “Table Captains”.
