As UCP’s 2024 fiscal year come’s to a close we are excited to share the highlights with you and because of you! This past year allowed us the opportunity to complete our expansion of the Healthy West Orange campus, begin searching for land in Osceola County with future plans to build a bigger facility, celebrate receipt of a US Department of Education Charter School Expansion Grant and kick-off Project ELEVATE; a program focused on recruiting and retaining the best education talent in Central Florida!
As we begin another year, we will continue to uphold our commitment to each of you and our Central Florida families by remaining true to our mission of empowering our children to achieve their full potential. 2025 brings even more excitement as we celebrate 70 years of UCP serving children & families in Central Florida! Be on the lookout for special celebrations and announcements throughout the coming year!
We invite you to take a moment and experience our UCP miracles as you read the stories included in this report. The faces behind the numbers will leave an indelible mark on your heart.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ilene Wilkins President/ Chief Executive Officer

To empower children with and without disabilities to achieve their potential by providing individualized support, education, and therapy services in an inclusive environment.
At UCP Charter Schools, our mission is to inspire and empower our students to think creatively and critically, fostering a deep appreciation for the joy and rewards of learning. Our focus is on showing our students that learning is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about discovering the joy of exploration. We have many outstanding individuals who have shown exceptional talent and achievement. These Bright Sparks embody the inclusive spirit of UCP and serve as inspirations to us all.
A studious fourth grader from our West Orange Campus taking the world by storm with her dedication and hard work is none other than our Bright Spark, Viviana. Viviana is an academic force who approaches her studies with diligence and a strong work ethic with her favorite subject being reading. Beyond her academic prowess, Viviana is known for her sensitivity and caring nature. She empathizes with her peers, always ready to extend a helping hand or offer support when needed. Viviana values the guidance and feedback of her teachers and mentors, and seeks their validation for her efforts. Viviana dreams to be President one day when she is older. Viviana’s unique blend of studiousness, compassion, and desire for approval truly sets her apart from the rest.
When she was born, Emma suffered from a stroke. After recovering from the stroke, Emma then experienced seizures where many of her complications stemmed from. Her parents brought her to the UCP Seminole Campus early on for physical therapy at just 5 months old.
At the start of Emma’s therapy, she wasn’t rolling, couldn’t communicate, and had right-sided involvement, meaning she neglected everything on her right side. One of Emma’s therapists first goals for her was to recognize her right-side functions and use that mobility. Her first steps, unassisted, was the highlight of the first year in therapy as her physical therapist felt this was a huge achievement for Emma.
Emma continues to grow with peer interaction and an established routine provided to her in her first years at UCP. She expresses her desire for independence by continuing to achieve her therapy goals set by her Occupational, Speech, and Physical therapists. Her cognitive skills continue to develop as her communication skills do. She thrives on the excitement and “extra” personality of her classroom and support of her teachers.
Her parents are proud Emma has been able to achieve what she has today and been able to integrate into the classroom, able to walk and do additional things she wasn’t going to be able to do with the help of UCP.
UCP’s inclusion-based approach to child development creates an atmosphere for all children to see a life without limits. This approach is based on real-world models for learning based on collaboration through an exchange of knowledge and talents.
Our UCP kids build empathy and understanding for one another, are more likely to promote acceptance and reduce prejudices, show enhanced communication and social skills, develop emotional regulation & an increased sense of self-worth.
At UCP, we have a 65/35 inclusion average consortium wide serving 65% with a special need and 35% without. About half of our campuses in our consortium hit a 50/50 inclusion rate.
