April’s Greek of the Month! Greek of the Month is a peer recognition given to members of the Fraternity & Sorority Community who demonstrate outstanding leadership, service, academic accomplishment and brotherhood/sisterhood. This individual is a person of good moral character who upholds the values of the fraternal community and the University.
Jenna Tamburro
Jenna is currently the Director of Electronic Communications for Delta Gamma Fraternity and was the former Chapter President. She is also the Programming Intern in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. Jenna is a senior Health Care Management major and Political Science minor from Marlboro, MA. “Jenna lives ritual in her daily life….she has the ability to motivate others to be as passionate about Greek life as she is,” said her nominee Victoria Thai of Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. Jenna exemplifies the Greek pillar of sisterhood through her everyday commitment to Delta Gamma. She is always willing to lend a helping hand to new members who need advice. As an intern in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Jenna has shown that her dedication does not end with Delta Gamma, she is committed to making Greek life at UConn better for all members. Welcome Sigma Gamma Rho! The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life would like to welcome Sigma Gamma Rho (SGRho) to the University of Connecticut! SGRho was organized in 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The group became an incorporated national collegiate sorority in 1920 when a charter was granted at Butler University. SGRho is apart of the National Pan-Hellenic Council. SGRho’s aim is to enhance the quality of life within the community. Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmark of the organization’s programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically, and economically. Soaring To Greater Heights of Attainment Around the World, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. as a leading national service organization, has met the challenges of the day and continues to grow through Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service.
