NGLA 2007 in Pittsburgh: February 22-24 Ten students from UConn attended the Northeast Greek Leadership Association conference in Pittsburgh this year. Representing Panhellenic council were Meghan Burns, Evynne Graveline, Kristina Jorge and Teresa Phillips. From the Multicultural Greek council were Ellen Pereira and Victoria Thai. Representing the Interfraternity Council were Jon Ficara, Sal Manoochehri, Rohan Desai and Max Chanoch. Todd C. Sullivan and Lauren Elliott facilitated workshops at the conference and Jessica Smestad was on the conference staff.

Greek of the Month is a peer recognition given to members of the Fraternity & Sorority Community who demonstrate outstanding leadership, service, academic accomplishment and brotherhood/ sisterhood. This individual is a person of good moral character who upholds the values of the fraternal community and the University. Kappa Kappa Gamma Update!

On February 9-11, 25 members of the Delta Mu chapter traveled to Boston, MA to participate in Kappa Kappa Gamma’s Rho Province Convention. Rho province consists of UConn along with UMass Amherst, Trinity, Harvard, Babson, Dartmouth and Yale. While there, the chapter worked on leadership skills and engaged in programs to enrich their chapter, while meeting women from other chapters and alumni. The Delta Mu Chapter also received a Scholarship Award for Academic Excellence and was nationally ranked 2nd as a chapter.

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to nominate fellow students or registered student organizations for one or more of the 2007 Student Life Awards at the University of Connecticut. These awards have been developed to recognize student contribution to, and leadership of the University community and beyond. Recipients will be recognized in April during Student Leadership Recognition Week!

Bowl for Kids Sake 2007 Bowl for Kids Sake is an annual event that benefits the Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters program. The event takes place on March 24 in North Windham, Bristol, Wallingford and East Hartford. On March 31, bowling will take place in East Hartford.
