IMPACT Retreat Proved to be a Huge Success
On Friday, January 20th, 50 leaders within the Greek Community traveled off campus to Camp Woodstock in Woodstock Valley, CT for the NIC values based program, IMPACT. At the start some may have been skeptical about spending a January weekend sleeping in cabins, but at the culmination of the weekend, every member in attendance was filled with a strong sense of motivation, empowerment and inspiration to lead the UCONN Greek Community toward great change and success.
The IMPACT program was an eye opening experience for all in attendance, and provided an opportunity to improve relationships between Greek leaders in the community. Many activities throughout the weekend were focused around envisioning the ideal “Greek Community” and creating a plan of action to attain these goals in the future. It is outstanding to see so many individuals committed to the future of Greek Life at UCONN. IMPACT was just the first step in transforming the Greek Community. We look forward to implementing the actions plans and accomplishing great changes within the community. A special thanks goes out to everyone who made this weekend possible. HUSKYthon- Husky Midnight Marathon HUSKYthon
Friday Febrary 10th HUSKYthon, the annual campus-wide community service project is quickly approaching. This twelve hour dance marathon will raise money for the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (CCMC), an affiliate of the Children’s Miracle Network. The money raised for CCMC enhances the budget for healthcare services for children in the region. It is the involvement of the community that makes HUSKYthon such a huge success. There will be a HUSKYthon meeting held Wednesday January 25th in the Charter Oak Community Center at 7:30. All are encouraged to attend!! Panhellenic Recruitment Management Team The application deadline for the Recruitment Management Team and 2006 has been extended to January 28th. Please encourage all chapter members of the Panhellenic Council who have seen recruitment from the sister side to apply. It is very important that we have a strong and dedicated team for Fall Recruitment 2006. This is a great way to become involved in the Greek Community as an integral part of a successful and fun recruitment team.
