MEET THE STAFF NEW YEAR, NEW STAFF!
My freshman year I become a brother of Alpha Delta Phi. Since then I took on positions on the IFC as VP of Public Relations and Media Technology in 2013-2014 and eventually working for the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. This year I have come back to work as the Operations Intern as we have moved offices and into the new place on 2nd floor in the Student Union directly above Chuck & Augies. What this new role entails is that I will be overseeing the new space, its functions, and working with the staff that will be there in the after-hours as the place will be used for events and programming. I am excited to work with the office again this year.

Adam Duong
Hello everyone! My name is Shea Middleton and this year I am the Leadership Student Intern for the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. I am from Orange, CT. I am a brother of Phi Gamma Delta and I will be entering my senior year as a biological science major. I also work for Residential Life as a Resident Assistant at North Campus. As the Leadership Intern, some of my responsibilities include organizing roundtables and Presidents’ forums, as well as helping to plan the Greek Emerging Leaders Conference. I am very excited to have this position at OFSL and I hope I can make a positive impact on the Greek Life community during my time here.
MEET THE STAFF
Maddie Laks
Hello there! My name is Maddie Laks, and I’m the new Programming Intern at OFSL. I’m from Framingham, MA, and am a junior this year. My major is HDFS and I am a sister of Alpha Epsilon Phi, and I’m the VP of Engagement at the Hillel on campus. This summer, I spent two months living in Jerusalem, Israel, where I was working for a non-profit that helps at-risk youth. It was such an amazing experience, and I can’t wait to go back and visit. This is my first time working for OFSL, and I’m very excited to become more involved in all the different Greek councils on campus. As the new programming intern, I plan to learn more about how OFSL functions as a whole and bring my own ideas to the table. I’m really looking forward to this semester and taking on these new leadership roles.
My name is Jacob Mabee. I am originally from Shelton, CT but I currently reside in Leland, NC after my family moved there in 2014. My hobbies include playing Hawaiian-style guitar, reading, and listening to podcasts. This past summer I worked and lived at Jones Family Farms in Shelton, CT. I worked in their strawberry and blueberry fields helping customers pick their own fruit, as well as doing a lot of weeding and other agricultural projects. At school, I am a junior Environmental Engineering major with a Computer Science minor and a brother of Alpha Kappa Lambda. This is my second year on the OFSL team and I am excited to get to know the new interns as well as the new office space.

MEET THE STAFF Stephanie Shirvell
Hi everyone, I’m Stephanie Shirvell and I am the Communications Intern for OFSL this year. I am a sister of Gamma Phi Beta and am a senior communications major. I am from Mystic, CT but spent this summer living and interning in Boston, working as a Media Planning Intern for Hill Holliday, an advertising agency. I am excited to work with the other OFSL interns and staff and am looking forward to a great final year at UConn.
Garret Zastoupil My name is Garret Zastoupil. I graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities (Go Gophers!) where I studied Entrepreneurial Management and Public & Nonprofit Management. I was involved with my fraternity, Beta Theta Pi, Mortar Board Honor Society, campus boards, and served as a Teaching Assistant. I am excited to work with Greek Life at UConn!
My name is Rebecca Weintraub, and I graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 2013 (don't worry if you haven't heard of it-not many people have). There I majored in Sociology and minored in Women's and Gender Studies. While on campus, I took on my leadership roles within my sorority, Kappa Delta Sorority, including President. I am very excited to be coadvising Panhellenic and being a part of the UConn community!

SPECIAL RECOGNITION Panhellenic Recruitment We would like to congratulate Panhellenic on a successful Formal Recruitment! On Labor Day, our Panhellenic sororities welcomed over 450 new members to join the community. A huge shoutout to the amazing Recruitment Management Team who made this process a success. These women disaffiliated from their chapters for the month of August to help Potential New Members find a home in sorority life. Their incredible service and commitment to the Panhellenic community is deserving of acknowledgement, so when you see these ladies around, don’t forget to thank them!
Thank You Husky Haulers! The office of Fraternity and Sorority Life would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time this year to help the Freshman move-in process go smoothly. This year was one of the most successful Husky Haulers event to date and we hope that everyone can make it back next year to continue this fantastic service as our university keeps growing.
