REDEFINE GREEK The weekend before classes started our dedicated council officers and chapter presidents were busy at a retreat preparing for the coming Spring 2015 semester. The thoughts and ideas shared that weekend will help our Greek community to have a successful semester. Part of the weekend included coming up with new “shared values” of the Fraternity and Sorority Community in order to add to the four Greek pillars that we already have. Our pillars remain as the foundation of Greeklife universally: Sisterhood/Brotherhood, Scholarship, Service, and Leadership. But here at UConn, our community is taking a step forward to implement new shared values for the community: Family, Respect, Unity, Loyalty, Growth, and Dedication. The presidents, council officers, and OFSL staff signed their names on a poster with those shared values to signify our commitment to enhancing the Greek community for the 2015 year! If you would like to also sign your name as a committed Greek community member, feel free stop by OFSL!

Beta Chi Theta Following Tradition Beta Chi Theta is big on South Asian Awareness and following Tradition. In fact, they are two of our six pillars! And in honor of these two pillars, we recently performed in an Indian dance performance in Fall of 2014.

Performed on November 14th, 2014, in Rome Ballroom, Beta Chi Theta put on a show about a Freshman guy who wants to be involved in University of Connecticut activities. He comes across the social fraternity, Beta Chi Theta, and is immediately interested. He joins and it is one of the best decisions he has ever made! But suddenly, he sparks a romance with a girl that later breaks his heart.

But in the end, his BCT Brothers end up having his back through it all! This performance was filled with laughs, cries, and some traditional Indian dances. Expect more from the premier South Asian fraternity that is afraid of no stage!
