MESSAGES FROM OUR PRESIDENT:

Dear Members, Happy August everyone! First and foremost, I would like to say how proud I am to be your President. These have been trying times, and our members have stepped up and supported the Club—giving the Club the added push to get us through this pandemic. I wanted to personally thank each and every one of you for your understanding. Assessing the members is never an easy decision, and this one was not taken lightly, by any means. The last time this Club assessed its membership was in 2002. I am hoping it is at least as long before another assessment is done. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. I strive to be an open, forthcoming president, and I would be happy to sit down with any member who wants to discuss the Club’s financials—or any other topic. I hope you all have had a chance to make it to one of our lunches, dinners, or our fabulous Sunday brunch. If you haven’t, please join us soon. One of the things I have been most impressed

with is the impeccable service. Our new front-of-house manager, Lisa, is beyond fantastic. And the food…I can’t say enough about some of Chef’s new creations and homemade desserts. The hand pies and chocolate mousse have been spectacular. Oh, and the tiramisu gelato I had the other day was amazing. On that note, a reminder also that if you have paid your assessment in full you are eligible for 50% off of lunch or dinner at the Club for up to 6 guests. Treat your friends, family, or colleagues to a special evening out at the Club and share the exclusive Club experience with them. As we transition into a full opening, we need your help even more. I personally would like to challenge each and every one of our members to come into the Club at least twice per month for a meal, if not every week, and to get at least one new member to join. With your help, the Club will not only get through this pandemic; The Club will thrive.

MESSAGES FROM OUR GM: Dear Members, What an incredibly exciting time it is here at the Club. Despite the ongoing pandemic and the obvious challenges we are all facing right now on so many levels, I could not be prouder of our Club and all of you for making this a truly safe and vibrant space in the midst of so much turbulence outside. Sharing the tranquility and camaraderie of our exclusive Sola Patio with so many of you these past weeks has been both gratifying and uplifting for all of us. This is not to say that we have been untouched, nor that we are completely out of the woods yet, but rather to express how invigorated we feel as we continue to push forward. Seeing you all here every day, utilizing the Club and invested in its success, we are encouraged to continue to work not only survive this truly life altering global event, but to come out of it stronger and better. Together we stand on the cusp of our Club’s rebirth for the next 100 and more years. This is our renaissance. We need you to help make it happen. If the events of the past months have shown us anything at all, it is that our Club – indeed any club like ours – is only as strong as you, our members, make it. Without your 4 THE 1919 MAGAZINE | AUGUST 2020

active and consistent participation, everything we do is for naught. A Club like ours needs its members to come in for meals and events, to bring guests, and to get your friends and connections to become members. To that end, I would like to challenge all of you to help us ring in the next phase of our Club’s existence by coming in for meals (and ordering to-go for those of you still unable to come) at least once a week, and, importantly, by helping us grow our membership. Let’s all do our part to double our membership and help ensure that when the dust around us settles and the world gets back to normal, that we are standing stronger and better than ever. I have been, and continue to be, inspired by all of you, your stories, your passions, and your support. I look forward to continuing to make this a safe haven for you, your families, and your guests during these unprecedented times. I also especially look forward to continuing to create ever more lasting and cherished memories for you in the coming years, and for generations to come.
