David French
David has taught management, strategy, and finance classes at UCLA since 2004 and has collaboratively trained students in various programs across the campus. As a business instructor for UCLA Extension’s Custom Programs Department, he teaches students, business professionals, and government officials about international business, policies, strategies, global economics, and intercultural communication. UCLA strongly advocates his custom programs in transformational thinking and international market analysis. In 2017, UCLA hosted a large seminar at the Luskin Center with David as the headline speaker for a 4-day conference.

Supporting International Clients with Custom Training
UCLA Extension collaborates with leading corporations, universities, and government entities from around the world to provide hundreds of students per year with customized educational opportunities. Programs range from week-long intensive studies to year-long certificate programs, and can leverage topics across any industry, with some of the most popular topics including International Trade and Commerce, Business and Management, Marketing, and Business and Management of Entertainment. Students can experience a different style of teaching, learn about the American culture, enhance their network, and build their international resumes.

Program Spotlights
Korn Ferry
UCLA Extension collaborated with Korn Ferry to offer Executives from Jakarta Indonesia six customized in-person sessions to complete their Leading Business for Port Industry program. Korn Ferry’s program included visits to popular port sites like Yusen Terminals and a tour of Gensler, a global architecture firm. Course topics included entrepreneurial mindset, financial acumen, and digital leadership.
Hangzhou Uchain Education Co., Ltd
Uchain and UCLA Extension collaborated to deliver the credit-bearing course, Techniques for Behavior Change in Young Children. Course topics included various methods for changing, adapting, and managing children’s behavior, behavior modification, and the advantages and disadvantages of authoritarian and egalitarian child-rearing approaches.

Westcoast
Westcoast Connection Pre-College Enrichment program collaborates with UCLA Extension to expose high school students, aged 15–17, to the day-to-day operations of startups and entrepreneurs. During the program, students tour facilities, learn which types of projects and initiatives are supported at the incubator, etc. This group of future business owners and entrepreneurs are future UCLA graduates.
Misk Art Institute
UCLA Extension partnered with Misk Art Institute to deliver a customized Photography Certificate to photography students from Saudi Arabia. Students deepened their skillsets and practical experience in lighting, portraiture, and DSLR camera operation technical skills and gained hands-on experience through field assignments. The program included a tailored curriculum delivered remotely to Saudi Arabia and completed in person in Los Angeles. By the end of the class, students had identified their styles. They could produce all the elements to start a personal website portfolio, including a cohesive body of work, an artist’s statement, and self-portraits.
