YAP Ireland The YAP Model is a unique way of providing intensive, needs-led, wraparound, focused support to children, young people and families who are struggling with a range of issues in their lives through the employment of community based advocates. YAP’s goal is to empower young people and their families and to put in place supports that will remain after programme involvement has ended. Our work can consist of up to 15 hours, one-to-one contact with the young person every week for six months, depending on their needs. Activities carried out with the young person are goal-driven and needs-led, based on the strengths of the young person and their family. The training and experience gained through employment with YAP Ireland has long-term beneficial outcomes. YAP’s Core Module training, one to one mentorship and 24 hour on-call service prepare advocates to succeed.
