UCD Careers Network is a Career and Employability Professional Service that aims to develop and enhance the skills, attitudes and attributes of students to prepare them for work We are a dynamic forward looking centre based at the Belfield campus with a sister site at the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School

Our work is embedded in the UCD Career Development & Employability Strategy 2015-2025, an institutional strategy aimed at developing a holistic educational experience

The fairs are open to students from all UCD Colleges and are attended by a large number of students - from 550 students at the Law and Smurfit Fairs up to over 1500 students for our SET, BFM and Internship Fairs.

Academic Internship Programmes

UCD runs a range of Academic Internship Programmes across all six colleges at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, which provides you with an excellent opportunity to engage with UCD talent early in their career.

Academic Internships are accredited University modules and are an important feature of the student experience and in developing student employability The objective of any internship learning experience for a student is to consolidate and complement the academic learning, knowledge and skills with experience. Academic Internships involve a three-way partnership; student, employer and the University. An employer hosts the student for the duration of their academic internship and the University is brought closer to key businesses and emerging industry sectors

The UCD Careers Network is the only university in Ireland with a dedicated Research Careers team to support the mobility of PhD and Research Masters students. Our Graduate Researchers work in wideranging roles across all sectors including: Pharma, ICT, Consultancy, Finance, Arts & Culture, NGOs, Public Service and Academia

Their adaptability and research-specific knowledge and experience combined with cross-disciplinary and transferable skills, such as; Data Analysis, Project Management, Problem Solving and Creative Thinking, make them ideal candidates for all future-focused Startups, SMEs and large-scale multinational organisations.

The Research Careers Team hosts a wide range of tailored networking events throughout the year where companies can meet candidates who have a PHD and up to 6 years specialist experience.
