EVENTS ALL YEAR All year round Puerto Plata has many events that represents the peculiar characteristics of the Dominican people, from religious festivities, like the fest of its patrons such as in January the Our Lady of High Grace, Altagracia, the venerate mother of Dominican Republic, with processions and masses. In February every Sunday is the time for the colorful traditions of carnivals, an expression of the creativity of Dominican in which Puerto Plata has his own symbols with Taimascaros an unusual mix of mask inspire by tainos deities, vibrant colors handkerchiefs from the Spanish and African heritage and the sea elements of snails. In may is the time for celebrate Saint Philip 9 days of masses int the cathedral, with artistic presentations in the central place, popular, christians, and classics artist performs free for the people that goes every night to the place. THE CARIBBEAN GOLD COAST AWARDS are present every year in July, especial awards dedicate entirely to prize the touristic industry of the country, hotels executives and employees.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC JAZZ FESTIVAL reunites in the finals days of October and the beginning of November the best Dominican and international performers of jazz, blues and Dominican rhythms, for 23 years, with presentations in Puerto Plata, SosĂşa and Cabarete, stars such as Arturo Sandoval, Chucho Valdez, Miguel Zenon, Berklee Global Jazz Institute, and local figures like Sandy Gabriel, El Prodigio, Guy Frometa and many others. PUERTO PLATA AMPHITEATER is the place to see many international artist that presents almost every month, were Peter Cetera, Carlos Vives, Juanes, Diego El Cigala, Pablo Milanes, and merengue, bachata and ballads, Dominican icons such as Jonny Ventura, El Torito, Frank Reyes, Wason Brazoban, some of the famous dominican artists that have been in this idyllic scenario in front of the ocean, in La Puntilla, the final part of the Puerto Plata Malecon.
