The University of Arizona provides support to students as they earn their degrees through academic and faculty advising, tutoring services, on-campus housing and international student services. DO I NEED TO PROVE ENGLISH PROFICIENCY?
International applicants whose primary language is not English must prove English proficiency. Most undergraduate programs require a minimum score on one of the following tests:
Selective programs may have higher testing requirements.
If you do not meet any of these minimum requirements, the University of Arizona Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) provides English training programs including the Undergraduate University Track (U-Track) Pathway program. Successfully completing the U-Track Pathway can fulfill the university’s minimum English language proficiency requirement without taking an additional TOEFL or IELTS exam.

GLOBAL WILDCAT AWARD – Awarded to incoming first year and transfer students, this merit-based scholarship* is automatically awarded to any student who exhibits outstanding academic performance and plans to attend the University of Arizona Main Campus in Tucson. This scholarship is renewed each year that a student is able to meet the requirements. A first-year student is eligible for four years of renewal and a transfer student is eligible for two years of renewal.

GATOSMX – First-year undergraduate admits who are residents of the Mexican states of Baja California, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, and Sonora are eligible for Gatos MX Tuition Discount. Students meeting the eligibility requirements will pay a reduced rate of tuition per academic year.
SERVICE & LEADERSHIP AWARD– First-year students are invited to apply for the highly selective Service & Leadership Award following admission, ranging from $500 - $5,000 USD. This is a one-time award offered in the first-year for students who have demonstrated leadership skills, engaged in community service and contributed positively to their community.
