GLOBAL DIRECT In 2020, the Global Education team launched Global Direct, the online component of UArizona’s world network, adding access to over 60 UA undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and a growing selection of customized degrees. Global Direct offers a new online path to UA degree programs with priced-to-market tuition, 124 unique academic plans, and nearly 1800 courses.

UARIZONA ACADEMY Established in Fall 2020, the University of Arizona Academy (UArizona Academy) provides an opportunity for academically talented high school students to enroll in a selection of online college courses alongside UArizona college students, offering international high school students a pathway to studying on our Tucson campus or a Microcampus.

In a 2021 survey of more than 700 colleges and universities, the Institute of International Education found that overall international enrollment plummeted 16% between fall 2019 and fall 2020, in large part due to the pandemic. In the same period, University of Arizona international enrollment on our main campus was down less than 6%, and global student enrollment was up 22%.

STUDY ABROAD SITES The Study Abroad team, in collaboration with colleges and departments across campus, as well as international program partners, coordinates and manages our study abroad sites, faculty-led programs, exchanges, service learning, and short-term programs. Study abroad is integrated into the University of Arizona curriculum through a portfolio of programs in 65+ areas of academic interest, with opportunities in 44 countries, as well as multi-country and virtual options. WHO WE ARE University of Arizona Global is redefining the international university experience. Our mission is to set the standard for an international university in the digital age. We believe global engagement enriches the University of Arizona and positively impacts the world, and we are proud to serve the University as a central hub for international resources. GLOBAL AFFAIRS: Manages relationships with governments and partners around the world. Provides regional expertise in developing partnerships, programs, and outreach in key world regions. GLOBAL ALUMNI: Provides engagement opportunities for and cultivates relationships with global alumni in over 150 countries. GLOBAL EDUCATION: Manages the Arizona Microcampus Network including Global Direct, and establishes guidelines for curricula and programs to meet UArizona academic standards. GLOBAL OPERATIONS: Provides operational and logistical support for the University’s global activities and initiatives. GLOBAL PROJECTS: In partnership with UArizona Research, Innovation & Impact, the OGP builds global consortia around the University of Arizona’s strengths. GLOBAL RECRUITING AND INTERNATIONAL ADMISSIONS: Recruits and admits students to our Main Campus in Tucson and to locations in the Arizona Microcampus Network. GLOBAL TRAVEL Coordinates resources and updated policy information to support safe international travel for University of Arizona staff, faculty, and students. INTERNATIONAL FACULTY AND SCHOLARS: Hosts cultural programming and provides travel, visa, moving, and other support to 1,600+ international faculty and scholars. INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SERVICES (ISS): Holistic support for international students, from visa and immigration services to social, emotional, and academic support. OFFICE OF MEXICO INITIATIVES: Manages the unique strategic relationship between the University of Arizona and Mexico, including with federal and local governments and strategic partners. STUDY ABROAD: Collaborates with UA departments and international program partners to coordinate Arizona Abroad sites, faculty-led programs, exchanges, service learning, and short-term programs. U.S. PASSPORTS OFFICE: Provides full-service U.S. passport processing and photo service to the Tucson and University of Arizona community. 13
