The recommended student’s profile requires grounding in Mathematics and Computer Science as tools, as well as a good understanding of subjects related to technological and scientific sciences. A good level of English is highly recommended. Students are required to possess the necessary abilities for abstraction, attention, perception, reasoning, organisation and method, analysis and synthesis. Students should be curious, imaginative, innovative and having team spirit. The Scientific-Technical access is the most suitable option for being admitted at the University.

Career opportunities Graduates in Computer Science have a complete and fundamental range of skills which allows them to face the professional challenges of a nowadays demanding discipline. Being an engineering graduate represents the basis of an academic or research career in Computer Sciences or Computing. Therefore, there are three possible areas of interest: Professional: Computer systems professionals working in companies and organisations based on technological and general trainings that allow students to develop reliable long term knowledge, focussing on continuous training throughout their professional career. w Academic: Computer Science is an academic discipline focused on developing IT applications in businesses, describing and understanding the usage and exploitation of computer science aspects in the business area. w Research: Computer Science is a specific research area, with its own theories and concrete methods and a wide scientific community based on associations, conferences and scientific journals. In conclusion, future graduates will be capable of managing departments or handling team work; managing and planning software development projects; managing and developing computer systems, including their design, implementation and control; managing and maintaining databases, as well as carrying out computer auditing tasks. Therefore, the potential market for these graduates is very wide and includes companies in all sectors, especially in the IT sector.
