A sex workersʼ rights activist in South Asia has been safeguarding the rights of sex workers for over 20 years by being part of the sex workersʼ community, fighting against discrimination and harassment, advocating for the decriminalisation of sex work, and supporting the education and well-being of local sex workersʼ network. She is targeted by the police and detained for 15 days for her work and activism. Another sex workersʼ rights activist applied for a Security and Well-being grant to UAF A&P and received funding for legal aid, psycho-social counselling, and to ensure the safety of the activistʼs family (including relocating her son to a safe place).
Resourcing Resilience (RR) grants are for women, trans, and non-binary sex workersʼ rights activists and defenders, organisations, and networks that seek to implement an initiative or respond to an unanticipated opportunity that would contribute to building their resilience and movements.

or any other worthy initiative that helps sustains activism, prepare for future risks, and scale the work.
A street-based transgender woman sex worker from the Pacific is a sex workersʼ rights activist who is engaged in condom distribution drives, community awareness programs, and free health check-ups. She is committed to defending the rights of consenting adults for trans sex work and is burnt out due to the voluntary nature of her work. She earns less than the minimum wage and needs financial support to relocate to a bigger city and start her own handicrafts business, in addition to her sex workersʼ rights activism. She applied for a Resourcing Resilience grant to UAF A&P and received funding to support her relocation to a safer city with better economic opportunities, hire a team of women for her handicrafts business, and seek psycho-social support.
We accept application forms in eight languages ̶ English, Tagalog, Nepali, Bahasa Indonesia, Chinese, Khmer, Pidgin, and Mongolian.
