When student turned-celebrity Geisy Arruda was harassed by her colleagues because she was wearing a mini dress _we are not talking about the 1950s_ something is weird. Even weirder was to read the texts after the case gained strength in the media by some journalists who didn’t stand for the idea we should dress whatever we wanted because fashion is democracy.

They only said her mini dress was inadequate.

Harsh times are these in which the jeans is weakened by superfemininity at the same time men want to reinforce their masculine side, even though we have been through so many sexual, female and gay revolutions. In spite of that, it is still quite shocking to see that creation is overcame by what the money requests and brands are forced to make commercial collections that only make their ideas dull.

Outside fashion, however not completely, designer John Galliano, who is openly gay, praised Hitler and is now answering for his prejudiced words. Talk about nazism: in the fields, the nazi used to crowd control by pitting one small group against the other. Fashion is still despised and diminished by a great portion of the society, which fails to see its enormous potential as a cultural and behavior agent. Fashion is still associated with foolish ladies and flaming homosexuals. Few can see the positive side of fashion.

Even as a target of great prejudice, fashion is prejudiced itself. Where are the black people in the Brazilian ads, or even the runways?

Fashion is reflection. So we can say the conservadorism in fashion is a reflection of our society which is less creative, less inquiring. Historically, these are the times when dissonant voices can be heard louder _even if they are immediately silenced. Their echo remains and inspires the next generations. So raising one’s voice is more than needed nowadays: it is urgent.

Yes, the questions don’t stop when one of us urge desire for the night. Desire, addiction, need, it was always like this.

Zeca Gerace: I’m from the time when we used to say I was going out, or “going to the club.” I can’t ever say “balada” (a common expression referring to party in Brazilian Portuguese).

Victore Corrêa: There was no “balada”.

Z: It sounds fake coming from my mouth. Before “going to the club”, where did we go?

V: Don’t know, can’t remember what I used to say.

[18:56:33] Zeca: 1997. At the time I was living at Prédia, at Rua Augusta, now the Lowear Augusta.

[18:57:48] Evandro Mano: You started the lower augusta!!!

[18:58:06] Zeca: No, there was people there, way before [18:59:05] Evandro Mano: What panics me, is to think that all this happened such a long time ago and, yet, it seems that nothing really changed.

You know, I scared to death of revivals? I don’t want any revival, I wan newness. Even though there might be elements of the past, it has to be somewhat new. That feeling of entering a place and do something new.

[19:08:28] Zeca: Our eyes keep looking for what is beautiful in the nightlife.

[19:09:10] Evandro Mano: You know, looking back I get the feeling that it has been a long time since something really spontaneous shows up. It seems to me that all clubs are now focus on the commercial side of it.

[19:09:52] Zeca: It might be. I don’t like being so accretive, but I think I like things a bit more visceral. I can’t ever separate nightlife from a kind of expression, or even art movement in music.

[19:11:44] Evandro Mano: But that’s the way.

When something new happens, it shakes everything: art, music, all the creators feel this thing coming. Those are moments very special – of renovation. Suddenly everybody wakes up different.

[19:12:25] Zeca: Do you think this renovation always tends to happen at night?

[19:12:37] Evandro Mano: I think the nightlife is the first symptom. I think that one of the signs of the end of a cycle is it’s commercialization and trivialization. Then some group of people that doesn’t have a penny starts doing something out of nowhere, from the pieces around them. The true underground has this advantage: freedom.

[19:13:58] Zeca: That’s so Age of Aquarius!

[19:14:04] Evandro Mano: It is. But today it seems that even the underground is stuck in some kind of label.

[19:16:43] Zeca: But do we still need to hide in the corners to be this select group which belong to the underground? Is there glamour in this?

[19:18:47] Evandro Mano: Do you think this young people who haven’t lived the nightlife of 10 years ago, bother with all this?

[19:19:07] Zeca: Liana (Padilha, a DJ here in São Paulo) told me that nobody gives a shit.

[19:19:22] Evandro Mano: They should think it’s all new!

[19:20:07] Zeca: Oh, we are starting to sound like our time was better…

[19:20:11] Evandro Mano: Noooooo! Look, I’m not being pessimist. Actually, it is all sings of the time.

Years before there were those great time shifters, like the 60’s to the 70’s, it was all very different.

From 2000 to nowadays the world has changed a lot. There are all these little things happening all over the time, all over the places. It is no more on gigantic movement attracting attention. So, it might be that there will never be another huge thing at night. I might be that for some time, the nightlife (or the nightlifes) will get specialized in tiny segments, tiny groups. People will just have to find their own.

[20:08:51] Zeca: That might be cool, actually…

[20:09:14] Evandro Mano: This gives opportunity for a lot of people to use their creativity to do new things. But about the commercialization and pasteurization of the nightlife… I’m out of it!

The dead sister’s psychiatrist prognostic was that Nan would have the same destiny of her sister. However, the years passed by and the doctor’s predictions were contradicted. At the age of 14 Nan leaves home and by 18 – age in which her sister killed herself – she starts photographing.

It’s during her stay in Boston that her bounds with photography come tighter.

Goldin’s first references were Boston transvestites and vintage movies. Nan Goldin is known for the studiedly amateur character of her pictures. The circumstances and ambiances that she prefers to photograph are very controversial. Her pictures retract sex, domestic violence, cross-dressing, prostitution, death and other rather indigestible themes.

The universe around Nan Goldin justifies a good deal of her work. Many of her friends died due to drug abuse and AIDS related illnesses.

Her most famous work, The Ballad of Sexual Dependency, refers precisely to this subject and has its beginning in the mid 70’s. Through camera sets, framing guidelines and light, Nan situates the spectator in a very uncomfortable and seducing place. Those who are in front of a Nan Goldin’s picture are not just observers. They are vouyeurs, accomplices. Goldin penetrates her friends private life, showing them in intimacy moments. The pictures have a history and through such a wide exposition of somebody else’s privacy is waken up on us a very intimate desire. The desire of knowing the whole story, the desire of knowing what in fact happened.

W h at c a m e first : t h e ni c k - na m e or t h e tattoos ?

In my early teens, doctors discovered I had a serious and pretty advanced tumor behind my left eye. At the time, there really wasn’t a safe or guaranteed surgery for my case, but I was told I had to go through it anyways because they were afraid I would lose the eye or even die. It was definitely a near death experience, so when I left the hospital, people started referring to me as zombie-boy. I guess the nick-name kind of stuck with me.

Y o u l e ft h o m e at 1 7 . W h at m ad e yo u do t h at ?

It was hard, for sure. I guess sometimes it’s better to just be on your own. No regrets.

Hav e yo u a l ways b e e n int e r e s t e d in fr e a k c u l t u r e ?

Yeah, for sure (Rick says for sure a lot), since I can remember. When I was a kid there was this side show performer called Lizard Man in Canada, I used to see him and other body modification artists on TV and magazines. And I was obsessed with this trashy late 70’s horror movie called Evil Dead.

A nd w h at abo u t yo u r tattoos ?

I got my first tattoo at 16 – a skull with two cross bones. Then I got more and more until I decided I wanted to get my whole body tattooed to look like a zombie.

At this point, his attorney and manager, Colin Singer, shows us the 2 Guinness certificates Rick had just received the day before our interview. One is for the most bones tattooed in one person and the other for most bugs tattooed in one person. Zombie-boy flashes a shy smile on the right side of our screen.

Life’s been crazy and yes, a lot has changed, but I try not to let it get to me. I still have the same friends, I have a girlfriend with whom I’ve been since I can remember.

Yeah, for sure. I’ve worked with Nicola many times, so we see each other a lot. After the last Mugler show, the one in which Gaga modeled, we all went out to a private bar. They are great people.

Clothes have always been a part of my life. I’ve always liked the whole DIY thing and making clothes my own. Especially, being a performer, the way you dress on stage is a big a part of

the spectacle. I basically live in a couple of leather jackets and vests I’ve customized with studs and some safety pins.

I’d have to do some research to answer that one… but Dracula is definitely one of them. I like the way he wore that cool cape with the collar up.

Before I created my own show I would perform with other people’s groups as a guest. It all started in 2007, I think. I have done a bunch of things like eating worms, pig intestines, fish heads, laying on nail beds, shoving needles up my nose. But after a while you want to create your own thing, so me and 4 other friends created Lucifer’s Blasphemous. We have an executioner who invites people from the audience and chops their head off; I play the zombie who won’t stay dead and has to be killed all over again (the whole thing has a sort of Three Stooges feel to it); there’s also a fire thrower and Dr. Kutzz, a psychotic auto mutilator. We like getting different reactions from the crowd.

You can make people scream, disgust them or make them laugh. I’m very excited about our next show, which will be at the oldest haunted house in Montreal. We hired the best special effects guy in the country for it and we’re expecting around 500 people.

I think death is part of life and we all have to come to terms with it. I don’t really think about it or assume that I am more at ease with it than other people. Maybe I am, I don’t know.

To celebrate all this digital revolution influencing – and defining – youth culture, CK Jeans has such launched an entire new label, based on that very same basis as the fragrance: CK One. Created by Kevin Carrigan, global creative director of CK and CK Jeans, the first collection of plain light-cotton T-shirts, underwear and only one jeans, might seem a bit to simple.

But the secret, lies on it’s vast range of sizes. According to Carrigan, the main idea is that the wearer can customize each piece according to which size he chooses. In order words, each sizes has a unique fit according to ones body type. Just as CK One (the fragrance), CK One (the label) comes with a global and powerful marketing strategy.

It’s campaign, once again shot in black&white by Steven Meisel, featuring a powerful cast of singers, actors and models from all over the world, in what Carrigan defines as “a true fashion moment”.

Clothes and fashion haven’t been quite able to pass on every message they want to get across. Ausländer’s SS12 is living proof of that. With a soundtrack ranging from Roxette to REM and Franz Ferdinand, and with a casting ranging from Andrej Pejic to Rick Genest (the Zombie Boy), the brand showed a nice mix of references, trends and more, more, more. “At the beginning it was hard to understand how surfers, playboys and fashionistas could buy things at the same store”, says Cadinho Bräutigam, creative director and founder of Ausländer. “But now a series of companies that carry on researches are talking about this new youth to which everything is fit, sexy and funny, vintage, modern and rock and roll”. The Y generation _namely the Millenials and/ or Globalists_ perfectly embody the brand’s identity. It was never enough to watch Ausländer’s fashion shows eyeing merely the clothes. Doing so will lead us to critics that tell us nothing if little at all. This brand is not only about the clothes, it is mainly about behavior.

It took me some time to write down these words and I have left it to be done at the last minute, just like many things in my life. It was like this with Rua Augusta. It took me some time to become a night crawler. When I moved to Sao Paulo I was 12 years old and found solace in the punk, the anarchy and the idea that Galeria do Rock was all about when I first met it. Buying CDs, having lunch Downtown and spending long afternoons listening to songs that spoke of a society I was tired of (one that still tires me) was my cup of tea. I guess that was the reason to why I never quite enjoyed going out at night. But then I found this place where I totally fit into the nightlife: Rua Augusta. Some say this “cutie” has long gone overhyped (little they know…). Sheltering all sorts of people, Augusta is just like a mother’s heart: there is always room for someone else and everyone is equally loved. There I find comfort after working weeks, there you can be free, be who you actually are, regardless of appearances. Some say it is too free and somehow depressing. I think it is really cool to get to know so many different people with different backgrounds in a street that shelters so many extremely different cultures (ranging from the stores to the individuals). Augusta has no sexual orientation, it sees no skin color or belief. It is very much like a girl that is into everything and she’s not going to judge you.

A u g u sta , s u a l y m da h ! via Brisa Issa Demorei pra escrever este texto e, como sempre, deixei pra última hora, como grande parte das coisas na minha vida que acabo decidir ou fazer no último minuto que me sobra de prazo. E assim o foi com a Rua Augusta. Digo isso porque demorei pra “cair na noite”, me mudei pra São Paulo aos 12 anos e então me encontrei no punk, no anarquismo e na proposta do que a Galeria do Rock era quando a conheci. Comprar CD, almoçar no Centro e passar a tarde ouvindo letras que iam contra uma sociedade que me cansava (e cansa até hoje) era minha balada. Acho que por isso nunca fui uma pessoa de sair à noite, pois sempre me sentia meio que deslocada nos lugares como se não pertencesse àquela realidade, e assim o foi durante anos. Até eu achar o meu recanto, o meu lugar, onde eu me encaixo na vida noturna: na Augusta. Há quem diga que o tempo desta “gatinha” já deu e que o hype já passou (mal sabem eles...). Reduto de todos os tipos de pessoas, a Augusta é tipo coração de mãe: sempre cabe mais um e com amor igual a todos. Lá encontro meu reconforto depois de uma semana de trabalho, lá você pode ser livre, ser quem você é, sem carão ou sem precisar provar nada pra ninguém. Há quem ache isso meio libertinoso e aiii “mega deprê”. Eu já acho muito genial poder conhecer um monte de gente diferente, com histórias diferentes e que uma rua consegue abrigar tantos extremos (que vai desde as lojas que a decoram até as pessoas que a frequentam). A Augusta não tem preferência sexual, de cor ou credo. Ela é uma menina que topa tudo e que não vai te julgar. Se joga!into everything and she’s not going to judge you. Go for it!

Remix via Luigi Torre Não é bem o fim do formato desfile como conhecemos, só um esgotamento de seu potencial de comunicação tal qual seus moldes mais convencionais. Roupa e moda propriamente dita, cada vez mais já não são suficientes para comunicar tudo aquilo que se deseja. Prova disso, é o verão 2012 da Ausländer, grife carioca fundada em 2003, que desde seu nascimento vem apostando num mix de referências e estilos, nunca antes tão claros.

Embalada por uma trilha eletrizante (de Franz Ferdinand, à REM, Roxette e Justice) e com presenças estreladas dos modelos Andrej Peijic e Rick Genest (o Zombie Boy), a grife trouxe mais um daquele bom mix de referências, tendências e tudo que é mais, mais, mais. Calças, camisas, camisetas estampadas, vestidinhos curtos e coloridos, shortinhos, hotpants, bermudas, saiões, uma pitadinha bem de leve de alfaiataria. Mas aí vem o tema, que na verdade está mais para essência e identidade do que mera inspiração. “No início, era dificil compreender como surfistas, mauricinhos e fashionistas poderiam comprar na mesma loja”, explica Cadinho Bräutigam, fundador e diretor criativo da marca carioca. “Mas hoje, uma série de empresas de pesquisas comportamento falam sobre essa nova juventude para a qual tudo pode ser cortado e colado, sexy n’ funny, vintage, moderno e rock’n’roll”.

Ao falar sobre esta nova juventude, a geração Y, os tal Millenials, Globalists e tantos outros nomes que tentam definir essa geração que cresce bombardeada por informações em tempo real, registrando, documentando e compartilhando tudo a todo momento num surto de ansiedade crônica –, acabou definindo a própria marca de maneira nunca antes tão clara.

Não adianta, nem nunca adiantou assistir aos desfiles da Ausländer com olhos apenas para as roupas. Fazer isso acaba sempre levando as mesmas críticas de que a marca não cria nada de fato. E esse nem sé seu propósito. Aqui não se trata unicamente de moda enquanto vestuário, mas sim de um recorte ou um retratado muito específico – e as vezes também bastante raso, é verdade – sobre um fenômeno comportamental através das roupas cheias de atitude, básicas-mutáveis, como que moldáveis à múltiplas identidades; da música frenética num mix inconstantedisléxico; e da adoração de elementos dessa cultura digital com validade não muito além das peças de cada coleção.

Nan Goldin nasceu em 1953 e foi criada em um lar de classe média no subúrbio de Washington. Quando Nan tinha onze anos, sua irmã mais velha cometeu suicídio. O prognóstico do psiquiatra da falecida é que Nan teria o mesmo destino de sua irmã. No entanto, os anos se passaram e as previsões do médico viriam a contrariar-se. Aos 14 anos Nan sai de casa e aos 18 – idade em que sua irmã se matou – começa a fotografar. É durante sua estada em Boston que sua relação com a fotografia se estreita. As primeiras referências de Goldin são os travestis de Boston e filmes antigos.

Nan Goldin é conhecida pelo caráter estudadamente amador de suas fotografias. As circunstâncias e ambientes que prefere fotografar são também bastante controversos. Suas fotos retratam sexo, violência doméstica, cross-dressing, prostituição, morte e outros temas bastante indigestos.

O universo ao entorno de Nan Goldin justifica boa parte de seu trabalho. Muitos de seus amigos morreram em decorrência ao uso de drogas e de doenças relacionadas à AIDS. Seu trabalho mais famoso, The Ballad of Sexual Dependency – A Balada da Dependência Sexual, trata justamente dessa temática e tem seu início assinalado em meados dos anos 70. Através de jogos de câmera, enquadramento e luz, Nan situa o espectador em um sítio desconfortável e ao mesmo tempo bastante sedutor. Quem está à frente de uma foto de The Ballad não é apenas um simples observador, é um vouyeur, um cúmplice. Goldin devassa a vida privada de seus amigos e de pessoas de seu convívio, mostrando-as em momentos de intimidade. As fotos têm história e através da exposição tão escancarada da vida privada alheia é despertado em nós um desejo bastante íntimo, o de saber a história toda, o desejo de saber o que aconteceu de fato.

O Santa Catarina Moda Contemporânea (SCMC) é uma iniciativa única em solo nacional, na qual grandes empresas do setor têxtil de Santa Catarina se unem a instituições de ensino com um único objetivo: promover e desenvolver a criatividade. Em sua 6ª edição este ano, foram formados 17 times criativos, responsáveis por criarem vídeos e instalações em parcerias com empresas como Copa & Cia, Dalila Têxtil, Dudalina, Grupo Diana, Hering, Karsten, Kyly, Lancaster, Lunender, Marilua, Marisol, Mensageiro dos Sonhos, Oceano, RVB Malhas, Tecnoblu e Villa Têxtil.

Cada grupo, formado por 3 ou 4 estudantes de alguma das instituições de ensino participantes, ganhou acesso irrestrito a toda infra-estrutura, matéria-prima e know-how das empresas envolvidas no projeto. Além disso, tiveram ainda orientação criativa do consultor de moda e analista de tendências, Jackson Araújo. Assinando pela primeira vez a direção de contudo do SCMC, foi ele o responsável por transformar os longos e monótonos desfiles das edições passadas em instalações que buscavam incentivar uma imersão no universo criativo de cada time. “É levar a moda para além da passarela”, explica sobre a iniciativa mais do que louvável e necessária.

Ainda que com resultados finais deixando um pouco a desejar, seja pela execução precária ou materializações um tanta rasas de ideias, esta mais recente edição sai na frente pela expansão de ideias e referências para além dos limites da moda. A presença e orientação de Jackson Araújo no projeto se mostrou extremamente benéfica, suprindo uma carência de informação e entendimento de mundo um pouco mais ampla. Afinal, hoje em dia, moda esta cada vez menos ligada à roupa propriamente dita.

CK O N E via Augusto Paz Poucas fragrâncias se tornaram tão representativas de uma década quanto o CK One. Um dos perfumes mais icônicos de todos os tempos, seu aroma unissex se tornou sinônimo dos anos 1990. Em 1994, ano de seu lançamento, Steven Meseil fotografou Kate Moss com apenas 18 anos, no que se tornou quase como um registro de toda uma geração que veio dar novo sentido às definições do que era ser jovem, sexy e livre.

100% dirigida a geração X, a campanha tornou-se não só uma das mais famosas da indústria da moda, como também traduziu perfeitamente o espírito de uma geração que começavam a confundir os limites então estabelecidos entre gêneros, raça e idade. 20 anos depois, tais limites tornaram-se ainda mais nebulosos. Embalados pela cultura digital, os tal Millenials, Globalists ou geração Y, trouxeram todo um novo significado para essas questões fortalecidas pelas infinitas ferramentas de comunicação disponível a apenas um clique de distância.

Para celebrar toda essa revolução digital que passou a influenciar e definir a cultura jovem, a Calvin Klein Jeans, acaba de lançar a CK One, linha de roupas 100% unissex. Assinada por Kevin Carrigan, diretor criativo globla da Ck Jeans há 20 anos, a Ck One pode se parecer simples num primeiro olhar – uma boa gama de camisetas de algodão super leves, underwear e uma única modelagem de jeans. O segredo, porém, encontra-se na grade de tamanhos de cada peças. Segundo Carrigan, a ideia é que os consumidoras dêem cara própria as roupas através dos diferentes caimentos que cada tamanho proporciona.

E assim como o perfume com cheiro de anos 1990, a linha de roupas CK One também vem acompanhada de uma poderosa ação de marketing.

Novamente clicada por Steven Meisel (e novamente em preto e branco), captura um casting super jovem de cantores, atores e modelos no que Carrigan define como um “verdadeiro momento de moda”. Para a campanha, as modelos puderam escolher quais peças usar e como ressaltando o potencial individual da nova marca. O resultado? + http://calvinklein.com WHITE ZOMBIE via Marcela Jacobina Depois de sair da casa dos pais aos 17 anos e passar um bom tempo dormindo em praças públicas, Rick Genest, hoje aos 25, viu sua vida virar de ponta cabeça no começo de 2011. O zombie boy foi descoberto no Facebook pelo stylist e estilista Nicola Formichetti, que não somente o tornou o rosto da linha masculina da Mugler mas também arranjou um passaporte, pagou seu voo para Paris e quitou suas dívidas de milhares de dólares acumuladas ao longo dos anos de uma vida sem teto. Tendo trabalhado com Steven Klein, Mariano Vivanco e Lady Gaga (que se auto-transformou numa versão feminina de Rick no clipe de “Born This Way”), Genest já pode se chamar de “Ícone Fashion do Ano”.

U+MAG conversou com o modelo via Skype um mês antes de ele pisar nas passarelas brasileiras _ele desfilou para a Ausländer no dia 4 de junho, durante o Fashion Rio. Um pouco tímido e bastante reservado, apesar de fácil e bem-humorado, Rick falou sobre amizades, influências de estilo, seu grupo de performances Lucifer’s Blasphemous e sua relação com a morte.

Tudo começou na cama de um hospital As pessoas te chamam de zombie-boy. O que veio primeiro: as tatuagens ou o apelido?

Quando eu erra bem novinho descobri que eu tinha um tumor grave e bastante avançado atrás do meu olho esquerdo. Naquela época, não existia nenhuma cirurgia que fosse segura ou mesmo garantida no meu caso, mas mesmo assim me submeteram aos procedimentos porque havia a possibilidade de eu perder meu olho ou mesmo morrer. Foi definitivamente uma experiência próxima da morte, então quando saí do hospital as pessoas me apelidaram de zombie-boy. Acho que depois disso o apelido pegou.

Você sai da sua casa quando tinha 17 anos. O que te motivou?

Foi difícil. Acho que, às vezes, o melhor que fazemos é seguir o nosso próprio caminho. Sem arrependimentos.

Você sempre foi interessado em coisas bizarras?

Sim, claro, desde que eu me dou por gente. Quando eu era criança, tinha esse cara chamado de o Homem Lagarto no Canadá, eu costumava ver o corpo dele e de outros artistas que faziam body modification na TV e nas revistas. Eu também era obcecado por esse filme dos anos 70, de terror trash, chamado “Uma Noite Alucinante”.

E as suas tatuagens?

Fiz a primeira quando eu tinha 16 anos _um crânio com dois ossos cruzados. Depois fui fazendo as outras até que chegou um momento em que me deu vontade de tatuar o corpo inteiro como se fosse um zumbi.

Um deles é pela maior quantidade de ossos tatuadas numa única pessoa e o outro pela maior quantidade de insetos tatuados numa única pessoa. Você já posou para grandes revistas como GQ e Vogue Hommes e até apareceu num clipe da Lady Gaga. Além da segurança financeira e do status de celebridade, o que mais mudou na sua vida?

Minha vida tem sido uma loucura e muitas coisas mudaram, mas eu tento não ser afetado por nada. Eu ainda tenho os mesmos amigos de antes e a mesma namorada que sempre tive.

E os seus novos amigos? Você costuma sair pra se divertir com o Nicola e com a Lady Gaga?

Sim. Eu trabalhei muitas vezes com o Nicola, então a gente se vê com bastante frequência. Depois do último desfile do Mugler em que a Lady Gaga desfilou a gente saiu pra um bar. Eles são bem legais.

A sua relação com a moda mudou depois que você se tornou um modelo importante? Você já tinha uma relação com a moda antes disso acontecer? As roupas sempre fizeram parte da minha vida. Eu sempre gostei de fazer as minhas próprias roupas. Para um performer, as roupas que são usadas no palco são de extreme importância para o espetáculo. Eu basicamente vivo usando essas jaquetas de couro e coletes que eu mesmo customizei usando tachas e alfinetes.

Quem são seus ícones da moda?

Eu teria que pesquisar um pouco pra responder essa… mas posso dizer que o Conde Drácula é um deles. Gosto do jeito que ele usava aquela capa legal com a gola virada pra cima.

Fale mais sobre o grupo Lucifer’s Blasphemous e como você começou a fazer performances bizarras.

Antes de eu criar o meu próprio show eu costumava ser convidado por outras pessoas. Tudo começou em 2007, eu acho. Eu já fiz algumas coisas bem loucas, tipo comer vermes, vísceras suínas, cabeças de peixes, deitar em camas de pregos, enfiar pregos no meu nariz. Mas depois de algum tempo você tem vontade de criar o seu próprio lance, então me juntei com outros 4 amigos e criamos o Lucifer’s Blasphemous. Temos um carrasco que corta a cabeça das pessoas na plateia; eu faço o zumbi que não morre e precisa ser assassinado (tem uma vibe tipo Os 3 Patetas); tem um cuspidor de fogo e o Dr. Kutzz, que é um auto-mutilador psicótico. Gostamos das diferentes reações que despertamos no público. As pessoas gritam, ficam com nojo ou riem.

Por estar rodeado pelas imagens e atmosfera macabras no dia a dia, você se sente mais a vontade para lidar com a morte do que as outras pessoas?

Acredito que a morte seja parte da vida e precisamos, todos, entender isso. Eu não fico pensando nela e nem acho que eu esteja mais a vontade pra lidar com ela do que as outras pessoas. Talvez eu esteja, mas não sei.
