It’s the beginning of a new year and now is the time to get involved at TABA. Whether you are are a builder or associate member, there are many opportunities to get involved and network your business. Join us on Tuesday, March 6 here at TABA for After Hours, sponsored by Light Your Fire. After Hours is a free, come-andgo networking event and is open to all members.

And one of our most popular yearly events is scheduled for Monday, March 12 at Green Acres Bowling Alley. Come out and have a fun night bowling with fellow members, all while supporting HOMEPAC, the Texas Association of Builders’ political action committee.

Regarding membership dues paid to Tyler Area Builders Association, the portion attributable to “lobbying activities” is NOT deductible from federal income taxes as an ordinary and necessary cost of doing business per the 1993 U.S. Congress Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act.

For 2018 taxes, the total amount of state and national dues that is NOT deductible as a business expense for a builder or associate member is $121.01 and $22.28 for an affiliate member.
