Special thanks to everyone who attended Bowling with Builders. As always, it was a fun night that helped John McKinney raise funds for HOMEPAC. Be sure to join us for After Hours on April 3rd, which will be on location at Cumberland Storage. If you show up at TABA, we won’t be here!

I also hope to see you at our General Membership Committee Meeting on April 10th. Our guest speaker, Tom Mullins with the Tyler Economic Development Council will update us on happenings in Tyler. Be sure to RSVP for this luncheon.

Electricians, if you would like to learn about the City of Tyler’s adoption of the 2015 International Building Code, don’t miss our class on April 11th, here at TABA. Anyone is welcome to attend this class for more information about code changes, however electricians are particularly encouraged to attend.

And our Annual TABA Golf Tournament will be held at Hollytree Country Club on April 23rd. All skill sets are welcome, so sign up as an individual or a team. If you’re not a golfer, you can still spotlight your business by donating items for the golfers’ goody bags, donating door prizes, or sponsoring a hole. 7 Important Tax Information

Regarding membership dues paid to Tyler Area Builders Association, the portion attributable to “lobbying activities” is NOT deductible from federal income taxes as an ordinary and necessary cost of doing business per the 1993 U.S. Congress Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act.

For 2018 taxes, the total amount of state and national dues that is NOT deductible as a business expense for a builder or associate member is $121.01 and $22.28 for an affiliate member.
