For A1, we had to create a photo collage in Photoshop with our own photos and then animate it. For my collage, I decided to go with a fantasy water theme and animated the bubbles. For this project, I did a lot of layer masking and applied multiple adjustment layers.

For A3, I wanted to do a fashion poster with photos of my cat Athena. First, I had to layer mask the photos to remove the background and make the edges look clean because she has a lot of hair. I put a gradient on the background and a few shadows behind the pictures.

For A4, we had to do an album, podcast and playlist cover art. For all of them, I first edited the pictures on photoshop and did the typography on illustrator. For my podcast, I wanted to do the cover with a scrapbook like aesthetic with photos of my friends and I. The podcast is named “chisme” which mean gossip in Spanish. For the album cover I wanted to do it for an album I really like Moonlight Sunrise by Twice. For A5, I decided to do an advertisement for Harley-Davidson a motorcycle brand. I first edited the photos and created the layout for the ad in Photoshop and then added the text in Illustrator. For the variations of this add, I changed some of the colors and the placement of the pictures and typography.

For A6, I decided to design a web shop for a cosmetic store I created called “Pearl Cosmetics” and designed a logo for it. I wanted the website to have a vintage look and I edited the photos of the product to look a little old and worn out. For the editing of the pictures, I did it in photoshop and I mostly just added different adjustment layers to give them an older look. I did the desktop and mobil layouts for the web shop in Illustrator.

For A7, I did a slide show for a cafe I really like called BoraSoo Cafe. I went to the cafe and took multiple photos of the place and drink. I edited all the photos in Photoshop. For the slideshow, I decided to do it on Adobe express because I wanted to experiment with this program and the slideshow was easy to create with adobe express. Maria Laura Bernal

For the calendar, I wanted to do a calendar with a cute aesthetic so I decided to do it about a brand of plushies I like, Squishmallows. I took a picture of each individual plushie and then edited them in Photoshop. I wanted for each month to be different so I changed the colors of the typography and layout to match with their corresponding month. For each month, I added three pictures of plushies that I considered to match with the particular month. Maria Laura Bernal

Book and Magazine Cover
For A10, I decided to do a magazine cover and a horror book cover. For the magazine cover, I took pictures of a few figurines I have and used them as the model for the cover and edited them in Photoshop. I wanted he design to be be very colorful and I got a lot of inspiration Y2K style magazines I found on Pinterest. For the horror book cover, I based it of a horror video game I like called “Little Nightmares.” I wanted the design to be look sort of like a tunnel and be a little spooky.

Fashion Advertising Campaign

For fashion campaing, I wanted to do the advertisements for the fashion brand Kate Spade because I have some of their bags I could use for the ad. For the advertisement concept, I plan them to look like a picnic outing because the bag itself looks like a picnic basket. The photos of the bag and other elements in the picnic were edited in Photoshop andt he ad itself was done in Illustrator. I also created a logo of my own for the brand, I made it look like a spades card with the initials “KS” inside of the spades.

Final Artwork
For the final artowk, I decided to create a fine art piece that was fantasy scenery mixing forest elements and ocean/water elements. I took pictures of plants, trees, rock, etc that could help me build the forest scenery and edited the pictures in Photoshop. The illustration of the jellyfish and koi fishwere done on Procreate.
