Fall 2017 Benefits of Membership with GCSAA The GCSAA offers 8 different kinds of memberships for all levels of involvement, from the superintendent all the way to students. The membership costs vary depending on what classification you register under.
So, why become a member of the GCSAA?
One of the main reasons is education. They offer valuable educational opportunities, both for new and continuing education, delivered via a variety of mediums that cover a vast array of topics for FREE. They have recently expanded their vision with a more global focus and are beginning to offer webinars in Spanish with plans to expand these offerings. They also have a conference every year where people from all aspects of the golf industry come together to learn and share knowledge.
Why Did I Choose to Become a Certified Superintendent? Superintendent Certification gives the individual knowledge, experience and skills to achieve levels of excellence on their golf course that may not have otherwise been possible. This is achieved through an in-depth examination of the practices, course quality, and policies of a superintendent. I made the choice to pursue becoming a certified superintendent not because of money or “things�, but because of many intrinsic reasons. If you know me, you know that to me golf is not only a game, it is a lifestyle. I wanted to grow professionally; to test my depth of knowledge and expertise, learn as much as possible, and find ways to strengthen and fine tune what I already know.
