This trip to Hokkaido, Japan was going to be my very first time visiting a country with snow. I have visited winter countries in the past but those countries either did not have snow or the places I had visited did not snow at all. Hence, this trip was going to be rather different (and much more colder).

STAYING IN AN ONSEN HOTEL: TATAMI ROOM
One of the best hotel’s I have stayed at in my years of travelling with my family.
It is definitely on the smaller side but I think that is what makes it even better - It feels so nice and cozy
ABASHIRI PRISON: MUSEUM VISIT
I visited the Abashiri Prison Museum, a prison quite well known for the story of the ‘miso soup escape. Besides learning more about the tale, I also learnt that the prisoners were the ones who had constructed the pavements we walked on along property.
