Babin’s Statement on the House Passage of the INVEST in America Act
U.S. Congressman Brian Babin (TX-36) released the following statement in response to the House passage of the INVEST in America Act (H.R. 2) earlier this evening. “H.R. 2 was packed full of radical Green New Deal policies that I could never support, said Babin. “Overall, this bill fails to provide the funding and resources to the appropriate areas and programs to meet America’s infrastructure needs. This was merely another important bill that Democrats hijacked to push their socialist agenda. “However, I’m relieved to report at least one silver lining to this bill. For years
I’ve fought for Congress to authorize the construction of the ‘Forts to Ports’ I-14 interstate. This new highway will be instrumental in aiding America’s response time to threats and strengthening our national security. H.R. 2 includes that authorization. This is a hard-fought victory, especially since House Democrats continue to reject Republican input on their partisan legislation. “Now that this bill has passed out of the House, This family was following the mask order as they were purchasing fireworks for their entertainment. I will work tirelessly with my Senate counterparts to ensure that 1-14 is included in any future transportation and infrastructure bill that becomes law.
