National Eucharistic Congress draws 60,000 to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament Hundreds of Galveston-Houston Catholic pilgrims journeyed to Indianapolis, joining 60,000-plus other Catholics for the 10th National Eucharistic Congress. The landmark moment for the Catholic Church in the United States was marked by powerful encounters with Jesus Christ in prayer, Sacraments, Liturgies and community.
