Launching in 2026, Liberty partners with the beloved and globally recognised Miffy, the quietly charming, hand drawn bunny who has delighted generations of children and adults alike. Created by the celebrated writer, illustrator and designer Dick Bruna, Miffy’s enduring appeal lies in her simplicity, warmth, and unmistakable graphic style.

First introduced in Japan in 1964, Bruna’s picture books found an especially devoted audience, making this collaboration a thoughtful tribute to those early works.

Inspired by the wonderful world of Bruna, the Liberty design studio has reimagined these illustrations into a curated series of fabric prints, weaving together character, pattern and narrative.

Internationally recognised for his clean, simple layouts and bold colour schemes, The Miffy Picture Book collection by Liberty has been created in the style of graphic designer, Dick Bruna. Carefully crafted to spark the reader’s imagination, the collection pairs Bruna’s six-colour colour palette with Liberty’s own unique hues. The outcome is a charming fusion of Bruna’s design philosophy with Liberty’s creative handwriting.

Scattered across an array of outlined blooms, including daisies, forget me nots, and lily of the valley, Miffy appears in her earliest form, lifted from the original 1963 tale. The crisp floral shapes blend perfectly with Miffy’s graphic linework, creating a fresh, springtime meadow.

Blending elements of a Liberty design created in 2019 with scenes from Miffy at the Seaside, the pattern carries a sense of whimsy and nostalgia.

From giraffes and penguins to elephants, zebras, lions and pandas, each creature adds its own character to the scene, while Miffy appears to be carried along by a friendly tortoise.
