HISTORY OF BROUGE
Rebuilt in 1932, Brouge, formerly known as The Old Goat, Fulwell Arms and The Jolly Blacksmith, where it was once thought it was the hiding place for Dick Turpin. As most locals remember us as The Old Goat, The Goat... (Jolly Blacksmith was in the 70’s) In 2005, the Belgian concept was born and it proved to be popular in the local area. Moules Frites served in 5 different sauces accompanied by delicious Belgian beers. In the coming years, Brouge has evolved as an independent family run gastropub, being part of the community and providing excellent food and service in a modern yet relaxed atmosphere, being the best Belgian pub in London. Frequented by families, beer and food lovers and an excellent venue for celebrations.

The owners Miri and Blade, 2 best friends for many years, took on the challenge to create a local business that provides welcoming friendly service, making guests feel at home from the moment they walk through the doors. The Belgian traditional Moules Frites is enjoyed by many regular guests, many travel the distance just for the Moules. The menu itself offers variety and it’s a blend of Belgian and British cuisine, cooking recipes with Belgian beer instead of wine and you can also find old classic dishes in the Chef’s specials board. Sourced from the peak of the Shetlands Islands where the water is cold all year round, the mussels can feed and grow naturally, making it an all-year-round season. Eighteen beers on tap, with Leffe Blonde leading the way and a range of over sixty bottled beers, the drinks menu also carries excellent wines from many regions of the world.
for a cold beer or al fresco dining, the conservatory and restaurant have a Twickenham theme with local historic pictures, and the bar area is very spacious for a relaxing afternoon or a catching up evening over a nice glass of wine, a glass of bubbly or a few delicious cocktails. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s great to see a very nice environment for both the guests and the team. They are also very accommodating to requests and even try and accommodate dishes that are not on the menu. It is very refreshing to see the team working together as one.
