Current, past and prospective clients are invited, as well as various individuals who refer me to their clients. I started this event three years ago and will be hosting my fourth event in November of this year. This is an evening event, and I provide heavy appetizers, drinks and live music at a local event venue.

TEAM GABI UPDATE Skip Bordelon Branch Owner — LA I gave support to my godchildren again this year to strive for a cure for cystic fibrosis. They are twin 10-year-old girls of my best friend. Gabrielle is the brunette and has cystic fibrosis. Olivia is blonde and is Gabi’s team captain. Gabi does two breathing treatments and a compression vest treatment daily and must take costly medication. She is a trouper and has been fortunate to remain out of the hospital for the last six months.

They have made incredible advances in treating CF, but it all comes at a tremendous cost. It is events like this one that improves Gabi’s odds of having more tomorrows.

It is no secret that Gordy along with all of the TWFG family have audacious goals for our growth. About two years ago, Gordy set a goal to reach one billion dollars in the next five years. To reach that goal, we have ramped up our outreach and recruitment efforts around the nation. As part of those efforts, Judy Rush and I recently traveled to California to meet with current branch owners and prospective TWFG agents.

During our trip, we were honored to present Roger Larson with his President’s Club Award. We were also delighted to announce that Waqar Khan will now serve as the Field Manager for the southern region of California. Congratulations to you both!

The Homeowners HO–3 policy allows for Special Limits Of Liability for certain categories of Personal Property. The special limit for each category is the total limit for each loss for all property in that category. These special limits do not increase the Coverage C limit of liability. PART I: PROPERTY PROTECTION Dwelling

Flood

At Twico, we offer protection as a result of damage to the structure of your home including fixtures, plumbing and heating due to a covered loss such as fire or hail storm damage. It does not cover the normal wear and tear of your home or maintenance–related problems. You need enough coverage for the cost of rebuilding or repairing your home, less the price of the land. Determining this new replacement can be somewhat complicated, but we can assist with this process.

Twico is the first Homeowners Insurance carrier to offer flood coverage to all eligible homes in Texas.

Other Structures

Coverage with Twico includes other structures on the property that are not connected to the home/ roof line like fences, mailboxes, sheds or detached garages.

Personal Property

Twico covers the contents and personal items in your home such as furniture, clothing, sporting goods, etc. This also extends to your personal belongings anywhere in the world, up to a maximum value per item.

We recommend insuring your personal property for its replacement cost value. The longer you own your belongings, the less value they hold. Replacement cost value ensures that you can replace yesterday’s purchases at today’s prices.

The primary intent of this coverage is to provide residential flood coverage, for those that are subject to flooding, whether or not they reside in FEMA flood zones.

Home System Protection

Home system breakdown is defined as sudden and accidental: mechanical failure, electrical breakdown, bursting, cracking or splitting, and/or electronic circuitry impairment of covered home equipment that results in direct physical damage or loss of function and requires repair or replacement of all or part of the damaged covered home equipment.

Home Cyber Protection

This coverage is composed of three components: 1. Cyberattack 2. Cyberextortion 3. Online Fraud Data Breach Protection

Pays for costs for an individual to respond to the loss, theft, accidental release or accidental publication of personally identifying information or personally sensitive information in which you are entrusted.

Identity Recovery

Loss of Use

Loss of Use pays for additional living expenses due to damage from a covered peril rendering the home inhabitable. Other expenses often include temporary living expenses and increased costs above your normal living expenses related to being displaced from your home.

Service Line Protection

This service provides for “service line failures” to a covered service line. “Service line failure” can be a leak, break, tear, rupture, collapse or arcing of a covered service line.

Pays for various out-of-pocket expenses due to identity theft. These expenses include legal fees for an answer to civil judgment and defense of criminal charges, notary and filing fees, phone, postage and shipping fees, credit bureau reports, lost wages, child or elder care costs and mental health counseling.

PART II: LIABILITY TO OTHERS This covers you or resident family members against lawsuits for bodily injury or property damage in instances where you are liable for negligent actions. It pays for both the cost of litigation and court awards, up to the limit of your policy. It also covers you at home or away.

TEXTING Texting is now available!

First, ensure there is a cell number on the account. Then click on Send Text Msg. A window will pop up where you can choose the cell you wish to send the message to and type in your message.

A texting diary will open and be used for future correspondence with this conversation. Once the conversation is over, close the diary and a new one will be created with the next sent or received text message. Pictures sent from the client will be added as an attachment within the texting diary. Please note: a client can send pictures via text however you CANNOT send pictures or documents out of Evo via texting.

BRANCH STANDARDS AND EXPECTATIONS

TWFG Insurance was founded to provide its clients with a variety of coverage choices while delivering comprehensive and exemplary personal service, thus earning a reputation for excellence in our industry. With this in mind, branch owners are required to do the following: üü Do not take or AOR clients from another TWFG branch without discussion and agreement with the other branch owner. üü Do not bind business without collecting and remitting money to TWFG Home Office (Agency Bill.) üü Follow carrier guidelines, underwriting rules and procedures. üü Use TWFG’s Agency Management System to maintain all prospect, client and policy information including all documents and attachments. üü Represent and brand your office as TWFG Insurance. This includes social media, signage, email address, website, phone greeting, letterhead and business cards. üü Regularly maintain diaries. üü Only write business through carriers contracted by TWFG. üü Gain prior approval for all “non-TWFG” produced/published marketing materials. üü Maintain an approved commercial office and obtain prior approval from TWFG before moving. üü Project a professional image. üü Be available to support clients. üü Commit to learning all new carriers and keep up to date on all carriers used by your branch. üü Attend carrier training webinars and classes. üü Check and respond to emails and other forms of communication from TWFG Home Office. üü Attend Annual Agent Convention or one other branch meeting during the calendar year. üü Do not solicit clients, producers or employees intentionally from another TWFG Branch or Home Office.

These standards are for the betterment and protection of TWFG Branch offices. Failure to comply can put all agents at risk of losing carriers, clients, and support. Failure to follow guidelines can result in a cancellation of your contract with TWFG and/or forfeiture of book of business and right to commissions.

Blazin' Cajun Cooking Team 2019

TWFG proudly participated in the 12th annual Muddy Trails Bash this April. The USA Track and Field (USATF) sanctioned event featured 5 and 10K trail runs, along with the “Little Muddy Kids’ One-Mile Fun Run,” and the “2K-9 Fun Run” for participants and their canine friends.

The annual day of family-friendly running included trails that wound through the George Mitchell Nature Preserve, a beautiful 1,800-acre forested preserve at the edge of The Woodlands.

The day concluded with a post-race party complete with live zydeco music, children’s activities, and the “Muddy Bowl Crawfish Cook-off.”

The TWFG team made an impressive showing at Muddy Trails this year. My wife, Darla Hodges, ran in the 5K while our crawfish cook-off team prepped their “mudbugs.” Our team was comprised of eight members from our Home Office who wowed the crowd with their “Voodoo Chicken and Sausage Gumbo,” taking home the coveted judges award, “Best Cajun Dish!”

We would like to send a special thank you to Michelle Gibbons and the rest of the TWFG team, Lionel Gibbons, Antonio Reyes, Michael Hodges, Darla Hodges, Katherine Nolan, Jamie Nolan, Angie Vaughn, and Apprillé Moore, who made sure the “Muddy Trails Bash” was a success.

With one of the top outdoor amphitheaters in the world, there is no question that TWFG’s home, The Woodlands, Texas, has become an increasingly popular hub for the arts. The arts scene got a notable boost when local filmmaker and Woodlands resident, Jane Minarovic developed the Inspire Film Festival to bring inspiring films that show the best of the human spirit to The Woodlands. This year’s films centered around “Game Changers,” those in their communities around the world, that inspire others with their outreach and service to others.

Since the festival’s inception in 2017, TWFG and Twico have proudly partnered with the Inspire Film Festival to sponsor inspirational films. This year TWFG sponsored “The Interpreters,” an incredible story of the brave translators who help U.S. troops to communicate with local civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq, at great personal risk to themselves and their families. The film tackles difficult issues like immigration and racism from the perspective of two “brothers” who served together in Iraq.

“The Interpreters” documents the journey of two incredible men who fought for our country, Phillip Morris, an Iraqi interpreter, and Paul Braun, a sergeant in the Minnesota National Guard. As Phillip and Paul navigated their difficult deployment together their bond grew immensely, even stating multiple times that they saved each other’s lives. As the end of Paul’s deployment drew near, he realized how truly threatened Phillip’s life would be after the U.S. withdrew their forces.

Afghani and Iraqi citizens who translate for U.S. forces are often considered traitors to their own countries and are typically marked for death. To keep interpreters safe, the United States passed the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program in 2008, which allowed interpreters to come to America after their service to our country.

While the program had good intentions, it was riddled with red tape and long waits, which have only grown with the increased restrictions recently placed on immigration.

This movie beautifully humanizes the struggle that Afghani and Iraqi interpreters face in order to get themselves, and their families, to safety after putting their lives on the line for American soldiers. It also highlights the need for American allies to ensure that interpreters like Phillip don’t get left behind.

When the film concluded, there was a panel discussion with the film’s stars, Phillip and Paul. During their discussion, they highlighted the continued need for organizations like No One Left Behind, a non-profit that works to ensure that America keeps its promises of safety and opportunity to their wartime allies.

The panel discussion also served as a heart-warming reunion of veterans and their interpreters from around the country.

The experiences offered by the Inspire Film Festival truly allow patrons to live up to the festival’s motto, “Come as you are.

2019 AGENT CONVENTION: THURSDAY Our annual TWFG National Convention was held this May at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center and as per usual, it did not disappoint. With about five hundred members of our TWFG family in attendance and over fifty companies sponsoring our events, this was one of our largest conventions to date!

The weekend began Thursday evening with a welcome reception where agents from across the country gathered to mingle with each other and our valued sponsors, and shop at our TWFG store.

Convention was in full swing Friday afternoon as agents attended breakout sessions with companies like Burns & Wilcox, Progressive and Safeco. Friday evening was filled with fun as the TWFG Awards Gala acknowledged agents from around the country for their incredible contributions to TWFG. Saturday morning was back to business with a keynote address from best-selling author and renowned speaker Tony Giordano. Branch owners also heard from Gordy about valuable information for the coming year.

The weekend concluded Saturday afternoon with a fun-filled family day at Rob Fleming Park and Texas TreeVentures. Our five teams set out for a bit of friendly competition while climbing the ropes course and playing games like dodgeball, Jenga, and volleyball. Team Commitment came out on top after a commanding performance on the ropes course and will retain bragging rights until next year!
