Greetings Greetings, On behalf of the Greater New Haven Branch of the NAACP, our officers and executive board members, I extend our sincerest thanks for the support of 105th Annual Freedom Fund Event. We are pleased that you have joined us and are extremely appreciative of your of the nation's premier civil rights organization, the Dorisupport J. Dumas NAACP. Our main focus continues to be the protection of civil rights, equal justice and fair treatment for all President people.
The United States is a country with promise that needs its citizens to actualize its democratic principles. We cannot be deterred by the continued battle against COVID-19, and the historic and ongoing grappling of social ills, such as systemic racism, voter suppression, and attack on women’s rights. The NAACP continues to work for real and important change in key areas including criminal justice, health care, education, climate, and the economy. Your local NAACP is committed to Fighting forward toward… justice, equality, and change, but we cannot do it without you. The work of the NAACP is necessary, as we fight to protect and extend civil liberties to all. We encourage you to join us and take an active role to fight against racism and the appalling disparities that our communities face. We must organize, strategize and work together to move our community forward. When it comes to social justice issues at the local level, people look to organizations like the NAACP to fight to help make racial equality a reality. If you have time, skills and a desire to help, we have the need. If you don’t have time, we encourage you to make the sacrifice to make our community better. Thank you to our sponsors for partnering with and supporting the work of the NAACP. Your commitment and participation have helped make this evening a success and will benefit us throughout the year as we work on behalf of the NAACP’s goals and aims. Congratulations to our outstanding honorees for their contributions and service to our community and to our outstanding scholarship recipients and book awardees for their academic excellence and pursuit of higher education. We salute you because you are our dream-makers and dream-keepers. Lastly, I extend a special thank you to the hardworking and very dedicated Freedom Fund Committee. Enjoy the evening! Sincerely,
Doris J. Dumas Doris J. Dumas President
