Land for sale across the Tweed Shire By Jo Kennett WITH REAL estate prices in the Tweed Shire out of reach of many, some buyers are turning to blocks of land to build on as a better option. The Weekly looked around to see what was on offer, although potential buyers are urged to do their own research on land for sale.

Banora Point

One of the cheapest blocks of land for sale is at Lot 10, 36 Old Ferry Road, Banora Point, and is on the market with Real Specialists. At $499,000, the 999 square metre block of residential land is surrounded by bush, faces south over the Tweed River and Pacific Ocean, is the last available block of land in the street and comes with enormous potential

for either a duplex pairing or single residential home. It already has a duplex development application submitted and paid for, with the process “almost complete.”

Terranora

Most of the blocks of land for sale are in Altitude Estate on the border of Banora Point and Terranora, with average prices getting up towards the $700,000 mark and over. Real Specialists have a 728 square metre block of residential land for sale for $695,000 at 20 Bartle Frere Close, Terranora, with views over Terranora Broadwater, the Tweed hinterland and Gold Coast. Latitude Terranora is a smaller estate with valley views and has some cheaper blocks. Lot 18, 70 Henry Lawson Drive is 733 square metres and has a price guide of $495,000 to $545,000 and is for sale with First National Tweed City Tweed Heads South.

Cudgen

Lot 31 Prichard Place, in the Kingscoast Estate is a smaller 480 square metre block for sale for$775,000 on the market with Sophie Carter Exclusive Properties. Work on the estate is expected to be completed towards the end of 2022.

Casuarina

One of the last beachside blocks for sale at Casuarina isn’t big and it isn’t cheap, at $1,700,000, but it’s a stone’s throw to the beach. The east-facing lot at 39 Habitat Drive is also close to walking and bike paths, and walking distance to restaurants and Casuarina Town Centre amenities.

Bogangar

There isn’t a lot of land left in Bogangar and 18 Kanooka Crescent is a 600 square metre residential block with a price

guide of $1million to $1.1 million. The corner block is next to the roundabout at the start of Clothiers Creek Road on the western edge of town and is for sale through LS Properties.

Pottsville

The most expensive block we found on the coast was at 8 Woodfull Crescent, Pottsville, but it’s huge, at 1,226 square metres. The $1,750,000 price tag will get you a prime spot in Black Rocks Estate on a quiet cul-desac. The seller’s agent, Mark Howlett from @realty describes the block as “suitable for subdivision due to size and gentle slope to street frontage.” It has an 18 degrees north facing elevated aspect and “opportunities for ocean views.”

Kunghur

It’s still possible to get blocks for around $500,000 in Murwillumbah and surrounding areas. If you are after space and some rural charm it’s hard to go past Lot 1, 35 Cooloon Street at Kunghur. It’s on the market for $519,000 and it’s a spacious 1.021 hectare block in the village of Kunghur with a dwelling entitlement It is zoned R5 Large Lot Residential, has a spring fed dam, power and phone to the property, a sealed driveway with shared access With attached dual occupancies permitted with consent it could just make a great investment or a lovely home site and is for sale with First National Real Estate Murwillumbah.
