OUR AGENT of the Week is Belinda Dinsey, New Business Manager on the Investment Property Team at RBR Property Consultants. You would be hard-pressed to find a property expert with more experience than Belinda, who went straight from college into the industry and worked her way from the ground up to her current role. Belinda helps her clients to get the highest returns in residential property investment. We caught up with her to find out more.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GO INTO REAL ESTATE?

I have enjoyed 46 years in the real estate industry, starting in reception, moving through Property Management and now working as New Business Manager for RBR Property Consultants. I love that every day is different and I still get excited when the phone rings.

HAVE YOU ALWAYS WORKED IN PROPERTY MANAGEMENT WITH INVESTORS AND WHAT ATTRIBUTES DO YOU NEED TO EXCEL AT THAT SIDE?

I have only ever worked with residential and holiday property

investors, initially in managing their properties and now as New Business Manager. I provide an advisory service, helping investors to maximise the return on their investment and identifying what makes a good investment. I have extensive knowledge of the local rental market as well as an understanding of areas that enjoy good capital growth.

HAVE YOU NOTICED ANY CHANGES WITH THE RECENT GOVERNMENT CHANGES?

WHAT IS THE MOST POPULAR TYPE OF DO YOU THINK THE RECENT GOVERNMENT CHANGES WILL DRIVE MORE INVESTORS TOWARDS COMMERCIAL PROPERTY?

Some investors are nervous with the changes, but my take is it’s a lot of “noise” and that the changes are not as scary as they sound. However, the government changes could see investors turn their focus to new builds.

We are still receiving good levels of enquiry and seeing strong attendance from investors at our open homes. Potentially we may see more interest in commercial investment as government changes don’t impact commercial properties.

Duplexes have always enjoyed a high yield and more recently we are seeing an increase in interest in purpose-built co-living accommodation and properties with dual living.
